Why are you going to derby city?

I want to go to DCC to watch Ralf Souquet very closely, to see if he really looks at the cue ball last.

Banks, Atmosphere, Sweat the action, Escape from day to day stuff.. It's only a few days that this working man can attend but I look forward to it each year!
Jan 21-29th

BTW you play against some pretty good talent from last years DCC on your youtube vids!

I go for the matches....

I go for the BSing with old friends....

I go because it's the tournament where you load up 4 of your friends and you drive out and have a blast. No plane ticket to Vegas...

I go for the atmosphere.. I think the Executive West had to feel more like JC would have but the Horseshoe still works..

It's a venue that is unlike any other and I think having it in the Louisville area adds to the event since it is the only tournament lots of the folks in the Southeast mark on their calendars.

Lastly I go to support the tournament. Capitalism and Democracy are very similar... I vote for Derby to stay put and not move to Vegas or ANYWHERE else by showing up and spending my dollars.....

Please, please...

Tell me that if TAR is not going to be there that someone else is going to stream it. DCC is the only reason I don't hibernate during January.

Are you going there to play in one of the three tournaments, maybe all the tournaments, are you going, for strictly to play in money matches, going for the good food, are for casino gambling, what ever it might be let us know.

I'm going because I can't imagine not going.

I mean really, the guy's got a point, "Why are you going to the derby city?

To play pool.
To watch champions play pool.
To gamble at pool.
To watch other match up to gamble. (That's a Big Tent side-show circus by itself).
To drink.
To gamble in the casino where you know Harrah's will comp you for your room.
To eat at the many nice restaurants in the building.
To go to ONE PLACE where you can do it all under one roof. Yeah, that's right; no car needed. (AS long as DCC has a shuttle this year).
To learn about pool up close and personal.
To play pool on some of the best tables in the world. (Diamond)
To meet up with kindred spirits to share a swing or an embrace.

It's all good!

And while I'm looking foward to being there but now I've got to start making plans to go.............

Someday I hope to be financially stable enough to be able to go to this event, or the US Open, or both.

Someday.

Certainly not to play, at this point in my development. But to be able to see such high level play, and to meet people and hear some great stories.

Someday. :embarrassed2:
