Why do most Pool Players Worship their Pool Tackle?

It's kind of like middle aged guys with muscle cars. It's like "bragging" rights.

It doesn't really matter...a nearly straight house cue with a decent tip that you can scuff up and apply a little post-flag Master Chalk is all you need.

For me, I believe a lot has to do with what I respectfully call my forum mentality. Several weeks ago I planned on a Players cue. Now it's probably a Schon. I just "gots to have one"!

For a short while I joined a watch forum. Five watches later, I quickly removed my desktop shortcut.

The computer makes it so easy to get exposed to newer and better, and it also makes us continually chase our next UPS high.

We're also able to post and talk about our latest acquisitions with people who share a common interest. After blowing c. five grand on a table, my wife had the audacity to ask why I just didn't run down to K-mart to pick up a nice cue...:bash:

Yeah, I'm guilty also!

And yet, another great post from "Pangit"

I guess it just means that he has some POS cue and is jealous of anyone that loves pool cues.

Hi only posts to just sit back and watch people respond. It must be some kind of control freak mentality.

You guys aren't getting it. AZB is Pangit's idea of "Facebook" -- he updates his "Status" by posting new one-liner threads, and the Main Forum thread listing is his "Wall." The rest of the readership are merely responding to "his" thoughts of the day on "his" wall.

You are telling secrets Cue Builders, Case Makers, Over Price Instructors, and Super Chalk Marker do not want you to share.

I agree. In fact I live in van down by the river, that's all you need.

I wear scraps of woven bamboo on my feet and cardboard for clothing, cause that's all you need.

Why anyone would stupidity strive for anything more is beyond me.

Glad I'm not the only who figured it out.

Instead of making 3 days of, "I hate this stuff, it's crap", he rolled 3 days worth into one! He hates custom cues, tip tools, and

wait for it...

Kamui Chalk!

Surprised eh? Me too. I predict tomorrow's post will be one of two things:

Pangit is the greatest player of all time and if you play 8-ball, please don't breathe his air.

Or

Pangit loves "XXXX" old time player because they didn't use an LD shaft.

We taking bets on which thread?

I like my custom because it has the same feel and same tip every time I shoot pool, reducing a variable I have to adjust for every time I pick up a random cue.

More importantly, I like the way it looks, I enjoy it, and I can afford it. If you don't happen to like customs or can't afford one, that's fine too. I don't make judgemental posts about the people who like to play with cues off the wall, probably because I'm not a hater. :)

Because just like my women I want them to look good, feel good, PLAY Good, and I collect as many as I can!

I played with cues off the wall for years. Problem is now, lot of folks are going to the fiberglass cues cause they last for ever. I would rather play with my d#ck than a fiber glass shaft. Don't get me wrong, some folks love em and there is nothing wrong with that, but I am not one of them.

Another way to look at it is say for example, you pay $2,000 for a custom. You play with it for 20 years, it costs you less than $9 per month to have something you love almost as much as the wife and kids (in some cirumstances more maybe )Pretty cheap, and well worth the expense if you ask me.

You can look at a cue as a form of art, so you can tell folks you are a collector of fine art.

I think the value of AZ posters is the ability to turn lemons into lemonade.

If two good equal players gambled and one used his good cue and the other
played with a house cue.....would anybody in their right mind bet on the guy
with the house cue?
..around an action room, I have found that how you bet your money is how
you REALLY think.

That's why most of us buy cues in the first place. That and people who don't wash their hands after visiting the rest room touch the house cues. I have no burning desire (pardon the pun) for VD.

Pocketpoint would get a better response if he ever said anything positive about anything. "Girls can't play pool" was still one of my favorite wastes of time though. I'm always astounded by how much of a bigot some people can be.

PS: He doesn't like Kamui chalk.
PPS: He really doesn't like LD shafts.
PPPS: He really really doesn't like custom cues.
PPPPS: He really really really doesn't like 8-ball.
PPPPPS: Tomorrow we'll find out more.

I play with a custom cue, an LD shaft, a Kamui Tip, use Kamui & Balabushka chalk, play 8-ball and one-pocket. I don't care what cue you play with, it's totally your choice. I am completely at ease with your personal choice of equipment and feel no need to make a thread about it. If you play short-rack rotation I will not call you stupid. I will not tell you I am better than you because I can play snooker. I will not tell you to, "go play with the local girls", because you don't play what I enjoy playing.

There may be a reason so many people have a dislike for PP.

Because THIS middle aged guy has reached a point where he can afford a few of the better things in life. If you haven't? Keep striving, grasshopper!

AZ's biggest troll is trolling again. Anyone who responds re:the topic has taken the bait. Pangit, you should be perma-banned.
