Why I'm SO Glad to Be Here!

Glad to hear this, and that you're feeling good.

I can certainly relate. I went to the ER 4 1/2 years ago and left with 3 stents in my heart. Had 2 arteries blocked 90%. Doctor said I didn't have a heart attack, but that I would have soon, if I hadn't come in when I did. I've felt great ever since.

Thanks, guys! {and Jenny} I'm feeling a bit better every day but still can't play much pool yet. They went in through my right wrist and my forearm is still very sore. The seepage/bleeding didn't completely stop until Sunday morning. Both arms look like I've been in a war. Have to take it real easy for a while and try to remember not to lift anything. And, of course, I picked up our 25 lb. Main Coon cat without thinking!
All the best to you all!

The power of postive thinking is very important, and it sounds like you have what it takes Good for you. :)

Merry Christmas. Love that avatar!

I'm 64, started having pressure but no pain in my chest week before last. No other symptoms. I made an appointment with my doctor last Tuesday for Thursday. EKG in office at rest was fine, he wanted stress test to be sure, Friday morning, failed and went into Heart Center with procedure soon after, pm. Came home Sat morning, Doc very happy with results.

Glad to hear all went well. I also have two stents in my arteries. Also a 90 & 95 % blockage. It was in my left coronary artery, this is the artery the doctors call the "widow maker". When I came out of surgery the surgeon came to visit me in my room, shook my hand and said, "congratulations, you have beaten the widow maker!"

Had mine done 11 years ago and still ticking. And ... on top of all that, my cardiologist tells me that I have a 100% blockage in another major artery!.

He said if it was 99% I'd be going for a bypass, but since it's 100% and I'm still on the right side of the earth, there are small tributary arteries and veins growing on their own to supply blood to the portions of the body that this artery handled.

He told me that it could be operated on, but contrary to popular belief, open heart surgery is still not quite the same as removing a hang nail. ( in his words)

So, I go easy to limit the demand of blood, and take some blood thinners and it's not so bad.

I'm sure you will be just fine. After 11 years and constant monitoring by the cardiologist with various stress tests and dye tests, I'm still ticking.

Just go easy for a while and don't strain anything.

In your wrist??? I had it done twice, both times through the groin. It's a lot more fun showing your scars.

Under close feline supervision, I hit balls for about 15 minutes, first time I've really been able to do so and feel somewhat comfortable. No hard shots and didn't let my stroke out, simple position, if any. Probably feel the best today that I've felt since Friday. Still a bit antsy but I'm gettin' there!
