Why not Shane vs Lee Van Corteza

Based on this list and my knowledge of the 10 ball break!!!

The wins against Gomez and Jeff De Luna are strong! Those two really can break the balls hard. But, the filipinos still break from the rail from what I have seen especially Orcollo!!! I guess the head ball break is his strategy!!!!! Anyway, it goes to show the break is all about technique and ZERO brute strength.

I am surprised by the learning curve they have exhibited on published techniques and systems. The Star Billiards training facility is FABULOUS!!! But, it lacks a reading section, Library of Books and Training Videos, no break racks or other training tools & materials. These players tend to rely on natural ability and instincts!!!!!

I have not seen one Training DVD or Device from the filipino's and I am rather surprised by the lack of educational material from them on the topic of pocket billiards?????

Shane's break has PROVEN effective and if you cant beat them then join them is all I can say and work on copying shane's break technique. I loved the match and still believe alex's kicking and safety game is far superior. But, his break is so weak compared to shane's it really means little to nothing!!!!!

"Hunger" or the fear of it is the best teacher for them. They learn fast because they know how lousy and helpless it feels to see their kids skipping meals. They (Pinoys) have to win or there will be no food on the table, literally...

I think you misunderstood what Jay was saying.

To me, it seemed like Jay was saying that Shane & Alex would have no chance against Dennis IF they played against him, the way they shot this past weekend. They were somewhat inconsistent, playing well at times, and not so well at other moments. They didn't play as well as they are capable of.

I don't think Jay was saying that they have no chance agaisnt Dennis.

Eric >sorry to burst your bubble

He did say this at the end
:
I think he would take to this table like a duck to water. Sorry if I offended anyone, but I'm just being honest. :yeah:

Which puts it to context. I think he's saying Dennis would be comfortable with the table more than alex or shane were.

For Shane to beat Dennis at this game, he would have to play the way he did on day three. Shane is capable of beating anyone right now, if he has his best game. Dennis on the other hand, does not have off days. Think about it.

As far as Alex is concerned, he is perhaps more comfortable playing Pinoys than Shane. He grew up in this environment and will play his best against a countryman. He is also capable of beating anyone, and he had Shane going for two days.
