Why women cant play pool. (Perception)

on purpose

Not this woman. But perhaps the difficulty some women have with that is akin to the difficulty other individuals, regardless of gender, have with subject / verb agreement.

:p

I did that on purpose, yeah that's the ticket, because I was told to, yeah, by my wife, Morgan Fairchild,

Is that the best you can do? Address the fact that I made a spelling error?! I did make mention of your 'small acknowledgement'...apparently you need to work on your comprehension skills.

For the amount of grammatical slaughter that takes place on these forums, you'd think you could find a better excuse for not making a better acknowledgement of the other women who have responded here.

I practically eat, sleep and drink pool. It is my one true passion. So for a man to make a blanket remark that women cannot play pool, then offer up some rather ridiculous reasons as to why, and to then be further ignored, as a woman, when valid counterpoints are made...well, I took the bait. My mistake. Now ya'll can piss off.

ROTFLMAO. Oh my gosh, everyone's so sensitive, no pun intended. I was just joking, oh and for the record even though I sometimes rush and don't use completely correct grammar, I always correct everyone, so don't think I was picking on the ladies. When my friends and family write to me and use "to" when they should use "too", I would always write back and say, "Hey, use "too" when you can substitute "also" for it." and so on. So relax, and understand that that is just one of the idiosyncratic parts of my nature, not an affront to your womanhood.

While some of the men may not be willing to do so, I publicly acknowledge through the principle of occum's razor that the most likely reason that women don't play as well as men is that there are less women playing than men, O.K?

ALthough the lack of black men playing golf doesn't stop Tiger from being the best.

J.K. I couldn't help myself, I always play devil's advocate. Again, that comes from my raging desire of intelect to figure stuff out. LOL. I knew as soon as this thread came out that it was going to bring the as previously stated non existent killer nature out of the women on this forum.

That's why I had to post here. Not to be a flamer, I stand by everything that I have said here. Just because I enjoy good legitimate debate and I knew that this post would definitely generate that.

hahaha

Of course you did. Please, tell her I said hello. <grin>

BTW..."breath" is a noun. "Breathe" is a verb. And "intellect" is a 9 letter word.

Just kidding you back! :D

ROTFLMAO!!!! Good thing I didn't become an english major like I thought about eh? J.K.

NOt Fair.

BUT, there is a factor that no one has considered. You have to take into account that existing professional talent is derived from the total number of people who start playing the game in the first place. .

I don't mean to pick on your post, just the words. How do I say this without pissing you off?

Everyone and their mama has used the social/numbers argument to satisfy the "why aren't women playing equally" question. Everyone. Even in this thread, there must be half a dozen answers saying the exact same thing you are.

What other people are doing (including me) is trying to add other reasons that aren't part of the socio/numbers argument. I think we all agree that the numbers dictate that there will be less females to choose from to establish a champion caliber player. The question then becomes: considering the numbers, if 10% of all players are women, why aren't 10% of the best players in the world women?

There are several legitimate social reasons why we haven't gotten more female champions. Nobody is dismissing those or forgetting them.

I suspect that if the WPBA ever grew to a $20 million a year tour, while the men's tour remained in obscurity, that after 10 years some women would become the best players in the world.

Hopefully the 2nd part of that 'IF' won't happen.

If that happened you'd see a huge men's lib movement in pool and men would be demanding to be let to play on the women's tour, Hell, I'd be right there too.
