Why would someone NOT want an LD shaft???

Yes you do. Otherwise you just aim to miss the shot. I don't aim to miss the shot, I aim to make the shot. Other guys aim to miss a little with their low deflection shaft, and aim to miss more when they play with a normal shaft. This is just guessing. Not a systematic approach. You can't play every shot with the same stance and same footwork. It will not work with every stroke you put on the cue ball and at every speed. I will not try to convince any body here. It is just my opinion. I just work hard on my game and I always do my best to keep the guesswork and adjustments out of it. I want to be able to explain what I do and do it with high level of awereness.

We are here to learn. I want to hear more about this footwork aiming thing that you mentioned. I would prefer it in video. Post it up on YouTube so we can all see it. You say you want to explain it.....well buddy I'm all ears and ready for a lesson.

So tell me sir. What is your speed? What credentials do you have to back up your claims about footwork making a difference on applying spin? I agree that footwork changes based on the shot but you are off base when drawing a correlation between footwork and side spin.

I am curious what makes you think you are better than others here. What major tournaments/accolades do you have under your belt or are you basing your knowledge on a career of losses?

When did I say I am better than others ???? If I was, then you should know me !!!! I am just a student of the game. And I don't think I am good to compete. At least for now.... I don't know about you and how many years you have been playing. What is your speed? Any videos of yours ? I guess you are just playing. And stuck at the same low to medium level for years. And no chance for improvement for the rest of your "career".

Anyways, good luck with your game

No, no buddy.... You didn't understand this well. I mean explain to myself and know what went wrong when I miss. I am not here to teach. Just keep an open mind. Maybe I know what I am talking about. And maybe I am not trolling......

I thought I was going to learn something to help my game. Anyways, if you figure out how to put what you are talking about into words or an instructional video I would like to learn it......or at least see it. Maybe you can put it into a form that I can comprehend.

Ok, I will let you know when it's ready.

How about you stick to your gypsy-style feet pool tricks and sorcery ju-ju and stop calling people out about their skill levels?

Unfortunately I don't have any videos but I will try to get one of me running a small pack in the coming days.

I think you are a person that thinks they know everything. I would suggest studying accepted instructional videos and books to brush up on your theories. The fact that you don't think you are good enough to compete speaks volumes about where not only your skill level but your knowledge level is at.

Knowledge is gained through experience not through isolation. Isolation breeds incorrect knowledge.

In reference to my current skill level I am likely a B on 9foots and a B+ to low A on barboxes. I regularly string racks on barboxes while playing both 9 and 8 ball. I have been playing this wonderful game for about 5 years and have competed in some professional level tournaments as well as several national tournaments for several different leagues. None of the national tournaments I have been in were for team events. I only qualified for single events so I did not get carried to the event itself.

Guys,

Let's stick to the original question.

If you have a need for a private discussion or argument, please PM each other.

Thanks,

......but do you use a LD shaft to put those small packs together?

Thanks......
To keep on subject. Do you use a LD shaft or regular shaft?

I have a Pechauer sneaky with normal 13mm shaft, an ob127 with ob2 shaft and mezz ec-7 wkk with wd700 shaft. I play sidespin using exactly the same method with all three cues. No adjustments.

If I ever post a video, I'm cutting off my head so that nobody turns to stone and then I'll proceed to show you what not to do when shooting.. even though it can still work. :o

I'm not giving away my feet secret.

Hu - do you recommend any particular custom shoe maker?

Also, any aftermarket insole?

If an LD shaft really does produce a straighter shot with less squirt, why do some people not want one? I understand that some people have been playing for a long time and possibly with the same cue so they might not want to have to relearn thei aiming but other than that what could be the reason?

I have never used one. I don't think I've ever tried one even. Just not that important to me.

I love it though when I'm at the pool hall and someone tells me "You can't make this shot with this English with a conventional shaft" and then they set it up and I shoot it in. And then they make it harder to try and prove their point and I shoot it in again. :)

I guess put me in the camp of not wanting to re-learn my aiming.

Yeah, yeah smart guy. These are the same gypsy-style feet tricks that a well known pro uses. For some people, he is the best shotmaker in the world. Maybe you have seen him playing some pool. But you don't have the intelligence to realize what he is doing with his feet. Hope this doesn't change. You don't deserve to know more.

Keep using your big mouth and keep insulting me if that is your style and makes you feel better.

Yes. I will start reading books and watching instructional videos. The ones that Efren Reyes and Francisco Bustamante were studuying when they were learning how to play. And maybe .I will come to you to teach me the straight stroke, the vision center, the ghost ball, proper grip, stance, etc..... I have a lot to learn from you.....
