Yep. Had a big old dog chase a rabbit through a jumpin' cholla patch one time .
Covered every inch of him. His mouth was full and could not close because he
was trying to bite them off. The worst cactus in the desert.

If you find a piece straight enough and narrow enough you could sleeve it over the handle area.

funny thread!,....I just came in to have some lunch.....I was cutting down a BEAUTIFUL Maple tree in my front yard that got an Azz whoopin by a Tornado 2 years ago. While cuttin a dead dried out part I looked at a cross section and saw what looked like....uhh.....black lightening going thru the log. I searched a little to find it might be "spalting" or "spralting"?......shame this fine big ole tree has to end up in the fire place!

What you have above looks like Spalted Maple!

just what I was thinking, sleeved over a nice piece of cocobolo, rosewood, or even something like amboyna, and epoxied tight, than filled with clear in a long multistep aplication, to give a nice grip area, add an olive wood forearm, and buttsleeve matching (or even turned onto the same peice from the grip area) with some ivory tiffany diamonds..... uh, crap, am I ordering a cue???Laminate or inlay some points to match the butt wood, (5 or 6 long points would be good), and call me when you get that cue built, and I won't be able to pass it up... especially with some really sweet "micro stitch" style rings in matching woods.... I sure am a sucker for 'thousand dollar PJ's....
