Joss cue w/ predator

Is going to be a combination made in heaven, you will never have any regrets
I know many pool players that have done it
Good luck.........ps. just do it!!

Try a search. You will be drowned in information on ld shafts. My best suggestion is to try someone elses. Nothing like firsthand experience. Personally I used the 314 on everything I shot with for 5 years. They work great if thats what you want. The trick is knowing what you want. Try it.

Lots of them on Ebay. Run you about 90 to 120. Just pick the collar and joint type[threads] you want. Also any cuemaker in ur area will have them to.
I just did a search for billiard suppliers in Toronto and came up with 3-4. They should have them to.

heck Yes. 3 ways to look at it

In 1997 Danny Janes made the butts for Pred. (and the best and 1st pred. shafts were made in the usa.) and if there wasn't anything to it Danny Janes would not have been involved!!! As a point for the other way Shane Van-- plays with a Schon with a Danny Janes Joss shaft from way back. The best 2 trick shot shooters play with 314 on there cues. Massey and Doc-Cue.In exhibition I broke and ran the Rack against (The Pearl- with a n-17 joss) mark

Predator makes the best shaft. I have the Z2 and I love it. The 314-2 will serve you well. Eventually you might want to upgrade to the Z2. Look on the Predator website and maybe they have a dealer near you that is also a demo center so you can try it out.

I can't stand the 314-2. Feels hollow and dead (on an old schon butt). I use an OB Classic Pro, and it feels very close to a high-quality solid-maple shaft. It has nearly identical deflection characteristics as a 314-2. I would imagine the OB Classic (not the pro) at 12.75 might have slightly more deflection than a 314-2, but I guarantee it will feel 100 times better.

I play with a predator 314-2 shaft on all of my cues and they play like a dream. If you like your Joss cue adding a 314-2 shaft will work like a charm, but allow yourself some time to get used to the way the predator shaft plays. It depends on the player as far as how long it will take you to get used to the shaft, but you won't regret it........

You think the OB classic pro has the same deflection as the 314-2? I heard OB classic pro (and thus OB2) are more similar to Z2. Any opinion?

Ive been shooting with a predator on a Joss custom since the 314's first came out. I shoot well with the predator, but if I switch back to my Olney or Joss shafts, I get much better feel for my ball control.

I think the predators brainwash you into thinking you're getting less deflection, when in fact... they force you to shoot more center english. The more center = the less deflection. The stiffer hit requires it.

The kicker is... once you figure out how to shoot with the predator, you switch back to your GOOD shaft... and holy crap can you zing that ball around. Its not the shaft, but your stroke. If you have a sound, level stroke, I dont think the predator will do much for you.

A good friend of mine just bought my old JN-18 custom. He was shooting with a junk lucasi with a predator 314. He is shooting lights out with the Joss, where he couldnt hit the broad side of a barn with the Lucasi. He is a fairly strong shooter with a very good stroke.

IMO... there comes a certain point when shooting with a 314, that they become a barrier, to advancing your skill level. my .02 take it as you will.

Yes, I agree.

The OB Classic is what I've used for 7 months now and I just have a ton of confidence in it now and growing every day. I used 314-2's for a long time but there are certain power shots where they are not my favorite. The Classic is way better on big stroke shots.

Why waste the money on a Joss or any other decent cue and the put a predator shaft on it.If you like the 314 buy a predator cue. Weve acc. got a idiot with a SW with a 314 shaft at the poolroom.Personaly I dont like the lack of feel but some swear by them.Good luck
