I don't think so. After the pain of losing so badly I think they both realize that Shane is a great player and they both clearly respect him a lot. Corey bet on Shane during a match with Deluna, and Earl really puffed up Shane in his interview after this Action Challenge. And Shane is such a nice guy I'm not sure how they could have that attitude.
What kind of post is this? I am sick of this kind of crap after every match that Shane plays.
NEWS FLASH - he's the world 10-ball champion. He's supposed to win this matchup. Would you be shocked if he beat Earl in a race to 10 by a score of 10-7? or 10-6? Multiply it by 10. There's your outcome in 100 games.

SVB is a great player. Let him be great. No one was betting the mortgage that Strickland would win, so we all had an idea of the outcome in this one. Now a guy posts regarding resentment from Corey and Earl due to Shane torching them? This is the kind of crap that causes resentment, not the actual match itself. It's the trolls that make light of the game, or the side action, or add their comments afterwards that cheapen the win and make it trivial.
Congrats, Shane. I look forward to the next AC if you get an opponent that can test you.

The man was just joshing and trying to point out the coincidence of now how the 3 have to be teammates. Did you not see the smiley and the SVB is the man. If you have nothing nice to say just stay out of it. He meant no harm or was not trying to stir the pot. Besides it is a natural thought as some people are real poor losers. By the sound of your rant I bet your one.

I think Corey and Earl will be happy to have Shane on team USA. He will be a great asset. Shane seems to treat his opponents with respect, so there's no reason for resentment.
Earl was taking the heat a bit at times during their match, but I was impressed that he was handling himself well after it was over. He seemed to give a very warm handshake and acknowledged Shane's great break and play in the interview.
He even said that Shane might have a chance at matching his title of 5-time U.S. Open Champion. I just wish the feed hadn't cut out so we could have heard the rest of what Earl said.
As an American pool fan, I'm glad Shane is representing us, and not only for his pool skills, but for the way he handles himself too. I'm guessing that Corey and Earl are happy to have him as well.

With a lot less banter and dramatics than his legendary opponent, Shane Van Boening quietly played
brilliant 10-ball to triumph in The Action Challenge II over Earl Strickland. In the second main event
staged by TheActionReport.com at the Qlympics in Louisville, Van Boening claimed a $20,000 winner-
takes-all prize after posting his half himself, pulling away for a 100-63 victory on the third day of play.
Strickland entertained with his mouth when he couldn't with his cue, leaving the crowd in stitches on
occasion and sometimes teetering over the bounds of good taste.
Starting the night's play with a commanding 60-40 lead, Van Boening won the first five games to set
the tone, getting away with a miss in the first rack, then breaking and running three before escaping
Strickland's defense for an easy combination to extend his advantage. "The Pearl" kept the margin from
widening to 30 games for a time, as Van Boening's amazing break finally faltered. During a stretch where
Van Boening scratched on four out of six smashes and repeatedly came up dry, Strickland bantered about
his own impending death, the Behnke clan seated behind Van Boening in support (the family troop of
impressive playing teens from Iowa were referred to as "gremlins"), and teaching the young South Dakotan
champion how to break in wet conditions after the match.
Despite his best efforts to narrow the gap, Strickland lagged behind in more than just breaking prowess
during the match. Van Boening's misses were rarer, and his defense was much tighter than Strickland's
throughout. Prior to becoming the reigning U.S. Open 9-Ball titlist this year, Van Boening had defeated
Corey Deuel 100-70 in The First Action Challenge, and gained that margin 84-54 facing Strickland. The long
trek for the cash was nearly over with the score 99-61, but Strickland earned one last reprieve and ran out
from the 3ball, with a string of jokes for the crowd in between pocketed balls.
"I better start looking for a job," Strickland said, "because I can't make it in the pool world now." Pausing
briefly in his chatter to deposit the 10, Strickland gestured to Van Boening in his chair and added, "The
Filipinos'll get you." Spectators continued to laugh at Strickland's antics as the nastiness was past, and he
rambled on about what Van Boening would have to handle for his country at the Mosconi Cup. Strickland
then informed Van Boening he would show him the Filipino trick for not giving up all the shots after the break
that had cost him so dearly and won another game from a cut-break, pocketing a 1-10 combination with ball
in hand after the balls had been tied up in a great safety duel.
It would be Strickland's last, as Van Boening made a cross-side bank on the 3 ball from a blown safety and
ran out to close the epic match 100-63. Afterwards, Strickland spoke highly of Van Boening's play and apolo-
gized to anyone he may have offended, stating that his comments made in the heat of battle don't reflect his
true feelings. His Mosconi Cup teammate expressed his admiration for the mighty legend, as Van Boening was
his quiet, calm self, with a big wad of hundreds and a new crystal dish to add to his growing collection.

I realized you were joking. I think we should just have a new category that is called "SVB". This way, you can go there with all the others, and post non-stop all day regarding Shane. Everyone is on this SVB thing lately. It's bugging me. He's having a hot year. He hasn't done anything that Souquet or Pagulayen haven't done. I don't see an "Alex" following or a "Ralf's cue" thread. These action challenges are proving something - that Shane is one of the best 10-ball players in the world. I think they should just get rid of 9-ball and start playing 10-ball. Once the rest of the world started playing 10-ball, it would elevate the players' skills at this game, and then Shane would have some competition.eaglesfan44 said:WOW! He's new car smell. Everyone can't get enough of him. I like watching him play. I hate people making light of his accomplishments with jokey posts like "do you think people will hate Shane because he's better than them" posts. That's all.
