Willie & Jimmy

DUNNN51, Howdy;

Thanks for the link. I think that it is one of the funniest in pool, what with the
way Willie keeps glairing at the Referee. chucklin'

Hi Hank,
I am not a regular here on the forum, but I do try to proffer some kind of insight into the game. The link reminded me of a time we had a table in our rec room. Dad would have a few friends over for a few beers to play. Of course Men being MEN; they would always try to out-do each other. I was his "practice" on days when they weren't there. That vid reminded me of how they used to glide around the table from ball to ball.

Jimmy was in stroke and Willie couldn't get started,(I been there many times!) :(
Willie was not too amused.

Yea, Willie couldn't get started due to the Ref. kept waving his arm about, calling the shots
a bit to loudly, and disrupting Willie's routine. Jimmy was able to shut the Ref. outta his head
so was able to "go about his business" . chucklin' Willie was about to bite bullets and spit
bullets at the Ref.

Don't be a stranger this 'joint' is always open.

It really is amazing how they could glide around the table, as you say...especially during the little safety part of the game. Their finesse and speed control was incredible, and they did not deliberate. They saw what had to be done, and got down and did it. I think it's easy to "forget" how good they were. We tend to take it as a given that the latest generation always does it better than all those that came before.
