Winner of seniors at VF

Thanks for the info. Dave Daya is a name I've been hearing for many years. Way to go! :)

Does anyone know where Dave Fernandez finished?? He beat me in the first round. I played great won the first set 5-1......but he never missed a shot and never played a bad safety. He's a real nice guy also.

Dave is a player, alright. Back before he got cancer years ago, he would literally play for days, for whatever you wanted to bet. Alex didn't have to like it playing him when he first started coming out of Canada.

Congratulations to Dave Daya winning the seniors division at Valley Forge.

Str8shooter,

Dave beat me 1-5. 5-4 and 5-1 Saturday afternoon. I missed one ball and it cost me. We talked afterwords. He told me he had finished 2nd, 3rd & 4th but never won. I told him I was 5-8 last year. Best I've done. I'm happy for him. He's a great player. I want revenge next year!

I remember watching that match, you shot very well the 1st set but then he got rolling and you made a few mistakes.Better luck next year but I have a feeling he's getting the itch back.He ran over 300 a few months ago in a game at the local pool hall.

I was thrilled at how well I played on virtually no sleep for three days. My sinuses were at their very worst. That cough got to me once or twice.

Dave has already eclipsed my highest of 189. We hadn't played for over ten years. We're now even!

Incidentally, that's a "Dam" nice place you live!

He's tough Lyn, but you know that. Better luck next year.

I saw him play at the world straight pool championship in New Jersey last year. I actually met him and his grandson at the banquet before the event. Nice guy and he sounded like he had played a ton. He went 6-0 in the Round Robin part of the tournament. I heard that he had run over 300 just a few weeks prior.

By the way, does anyone know how Ed Latimer finished? He's a friend of mine from Chicago and I heard he was doing well in the senior division.

Doug,

I saw Ed as he was leaving our motel Sunday morning. I know for sure he was in the final eight in the Seniors. Didn't stay for Sunday. Perhaps another poster has better info.
