Hard Break???

Mike Sigel walks by and says to him " I remember when I used to be able to break that hard". Busta just kind of gave him a crooked smile but I got the sense he didn't feel Mike ever hit em as hard as he could.

Bustamante break shots make Sigel's look like a joke but Larry Nevel outbreak Bustamante. Bustamante claimed to have an elbow injury when he played in 2005 Carolina open in Goldsboro, NC and Larry Nevel, boy he slammed the crap of the racks. I was there to witness how hard Larry Nevel broke the balls especially in the final against Bustamante. Both Busta and Nevel are great players.

I agree about Larry Nevel's breaking. I think he's definitely got a power break. He's often overlooked in some of the high-profile competitions, and he's capable of beating anyone if he's game is on, par excellence. He's been right on the money [pun intended], winning the Season Finale of the Tiger/Planet Pool tour at the beginning of this month.

NaClBandit, you're right about the InsidePOOL article about the Wiseman/Pagulayan versus McCready/Big Jerry match-up at the 2003 Carolinas Open. It was pretty funny, the way it came down, even though my team was on the losing end, so to speak. :o

Bustamante has always broke the balls good, one of his best traits, at least in 9-ball. By now, I'd imagine that most players are in the process of or have already perfected the 8-ball break for the IPT tour.

Corey Deuel is heralded as one of the BEST breakers in the business, no matter what game it is.

Ronnie Wiseman has acquired several titles in recent times. I know about the 2003 Carolinas Open one, the recent Reno Open, and I had thought he won the Capital City Classic in Philly a few years back, but it may be that he was runner-up.

Everyone, i believe we're forgeting possibly the best breaker of all time....

It's gotta be Tom Cruise... i mean seriously, did you see how he broke em in TCOM?

do anyone know what moth and year of InsidePool the article was in ?

The article came out in the February 2005 issue of InsidePOOL magazine. :)

Here's a snapshot of Keith and his designated breaker, Big Jerry, who never once got up off of his stool, against the incredible team of Ronnie Wiseman and Alex Pagulayan. :p

Interview

I interviewed Ron Wiseman once. He was very Keith McCready like in his stories. While I am sure Ron, is almost honest in his telling of them. (Almost the key word there).

One of the things he told me as he lived in Winsor, Canada which is right across from Detroit. He said while most people had to "do the road", he was living in the right spot at the right time. All of the action was coming to Detroit for the millionaires, so Ron was in the middle of it or at least had plenty of action. I thought that this was unique and probably will be the last time this will happen.

Wiseman does commentary on a Joyner vs Sambojan one pocket match (accu-stats) if anyone is interested in hearing him talk about pool. He does a good job.
