Well I'm heading out for my first small tournament today. Just an APA prequalifier. My home team is having an 8 and 9 ball qualifier today. I'm going to try my hand at 8 ball. I'm gonna rattle a few pocket say some bad words and have a good time supporting my team and the Firehall. Wish me luck and hope the old Heubler holds up.

Dang, now I want a Dos Equis Amber but it's only 11:20 AM. I'll have to move my clock forward an hour so it's ok to drink the ones I have in the fridge. You can't drink before noon, you know!

Thanks guys,I'm back. 2 wins and I'm in. Got the second one cheap. 1 Inadvertant 8 and a scratch on the 8. Hated to win that way. And yes I rattled a bunch of pockets. Said my share of bad things. Ate a bunch of bar food. And had a good time.
Oh yea the Hubler came through with flying colours.

Congratulations on the two lucky wins. Sounds like you were pretty lucky.

Now you owe in the 'lucky category'.

It might be time to hit the practice table-you may not have to pay back all that 'lucky' debt.

The pool gods always collect. At the most inconvenient time.

Yea I got lucky in my second match. I won the first one fair and square. Only 1 APA shot the whole day. For some reason I play for crap on our home table. Shoot Valley's elsewhere and shoot great (well, passingly good I'd say). I shoulda lost the last game of the second match. First one was up in the air. Lady I shot is a solid player. She just takes too many chances around the 8. Heck of a good 9 ball player though. All in all I had a good time. Made some jokes was razzed a bunch. Felt good leaving. Played reasonable. Hope to see some more tournaments later this year.

Yea I hope so. It's back to the weekly league grind. I'm 2-0 in 9 ball and 1-1 in 8ball. Gotta pick up my long table game some. Miss too many long cut shots. Still feelin' good about the experience. Hope to keep improving.
