Wizard vs kamui black tips

Wizard (Hard) vs Moori (Hard) vs Kamui (Hard) vs Kamui Black (Hard) vs Blackjack (Hard)

All pretty good tips, the Wizard makes the worst noise and feels that needs tapping (with tip-pik) more often than the rest.
It feels very hard after a few sessions.

The Moori is very similar to the Wizard just a bit softer and less noisy... it will get very hard very fast. If you can get used to sound of the Wizard than save the $$ and go with Wizard, you will not feel much difference in performance and playability.

The Blackjack (made by the shop of Keith Andy cues) is also very hard but and feels like needs less maintenance than the Wizard and Moori, over all a very good and consistent tip.

The Kamui, feels softer, it grabs the CB better and spins the cue ball more, I need to reshape it more often than the above but don't need to tap it that often. After the initial compression it gets a bit harder but stays consistent to the last layer.

I just installed a Kamui Black and had only one session with it (a local amateur 8ball tournament in which I finished 2nd....) it felt as hard as the regular Kamui, maybe a bit softer at the beginning, grabs the CB better than all. I still need more time with it to know it it's worth the extra $$ over the regular Kamui.

The first 4 tips here lasted about 6 months before replacement was needed. Hard tips require less grooming and just an occasional tapping so they last longer.

From all those tips I would recommend the Kamui (black or regular) as it feels they are the best tips from all, and since the difference from the Blackjack is only about $3 then why not go with the best?

Thanks for the run down bro! what's the price difference between kamui black and regular kamui?

I tried the regular kamui med.-soft , and thought they were pretty good as far as playability it did eveything I wanted it to do , had a good feeling to it, and held chalk good, Now I switched to the wizard med. to try and I like them also, they remind me of the old moori med.tips. But when it comes my choice now I switched to the wizard for the money you cant beat them. I switched all my shafts I play with to wizards. <<<ED

In order of personal preference...

#1 Kamui brown medium
#2 Kamui black soft
#3 Wizard medium

I feel that the Kamui brown M is a hair softer than the black S (really ). The Wizard M is definitely firmer than the black S, but I can feel the layers of the Wizard on the sides after a few days of using it from new. I have to burnish the sides of the Wizard about 3 or 4 times after installation before it settles down. I don't need to do this with the Kamui. But then again, it's hard to beat the price of the Wizard. Overall, all 3 are good tips and I will stick to my order of preference as stated above.

If you like soft tips than try the Kamui Black Super Soft.... I think it's the softest layered tip on the planet.
I just installed one for a local player and he loves it.

I have only tried the Wizard med & Wizard hard both play well. I have never tried the Kamui tip.
I still prefer my own version of the milk dud/ elk master tip.

i still dig the milk dud you gave me but i ran into a little problem with it. i always like to experiment with new tips though. collecting tips is way cheaper than collecting cues

In my opinion the Wizard, Moori Medium, and Hard Black Kamui are fairly close in performance. They are all excellent tips. I like the Hard Black Kamui the best because it seems to hold chalk better and seems to grip the cue ball slightly more. I bought the Kamui from KOINKIDD who offers the absolute best price on them. My tips last well over 6 months, so the price difference is not a factor to me.

Kamui Black SS is what I am using now and have been for the past 2 months. It keeps its shape and here in the southeast where the humidity affects everything, balls, tables, cushions, the Kamui is the only part of my equipment that stays constant. It has kept its shape, conical taper with a dime radius and with the Blue Diamond chalk no miscues when you get way on the outside of the CB or get stuck on the rail with only the top of the CB to hit. Lots of spin can be used when you need it playing One Pocket. To sum it up so far so great.

Personal experience..............

I have been playing with both Kamui Black II SS and Wizard Med for the past 3 months. Both tips keep thier shape and hold chalk extremely well. Never miscued with either even when using extreme english. The Kamui Black II SS in my opinion has a harder hit to it than the Wizard. The only maintenance I do for either is to tip pik em and thats it. either or, both tips are a great choice.

i use the black kamui an i like it they hitt real good but everyone has there opinion but im getting some champion tips in so i might use them meh

With all the different tips out there, it's easy to get confused. I'm willing to bet that if you took just about any tip out there and put it on your cue, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

There is a difference let's say between an Elkmaster and a Kamui, but within that spectrum of layered tips, there is not a huge difference at all.

With that being said, it is important to know whether or not you have the sensitivity to be able to tell the difference.

Wizards, Tiger products, Moori's, Kamui's, Hercules, are all about the same. Make no mistake about it, I am not going to just put anything on my cue, but I wouldn't worry too much about finding the best one. Personally, I have tried them all and to this day, there is nothing better than a Kamui Black.

It lasts a long, long time. It is genetically designed for superior performance and it is bred with the high performance player in mind. The pure nature of this tip just exudes confidence on a totally divine level. Do the right thing and go black.... you'll never go back.

Had a second session with the Kamui Black (Hard) tip last night and I'm very happy with it.
I believe it bigger test will be to see how it plays in a month time.

I'm using Kamui Black M's on our Ferrule-less shafts, unless something different is requested. They hold their shape well and compliment the shaft's increased performance too.

Hope you take this in a positive way but I had a hard time reading your post because of the green font.
