My default thinking of new cloth colors was the financial incentive to sell more of it. But I can't see much return in that, i.e. wouldn't pool rooms replace cloth at the same frequency? Perhaps a small percentage would buy new cloth earlier for the new colors of the month.

There is more competition in cloth recently. Andy, CPBA, Simonis, Brunswick, etc. Offering different colors might help companies differentiate themselves and get that business.

As pool gets more popular worldwide, maybe some colors are more in demand. I don't know how big the home market is compared with the commercial market, but I, for example, like having the exact color I want on my home table. If company A doesn't have it, I'm going to company B.
