After watching match play, I think the corners at 4 1/4 are correct, but the side pockets should be 4 3/8.
The way it is, the side pockets don't allow an aggressive type shot that's an integral part of this game.

I would agree from watching that the corners are playing tight but within reason, and well struck balls are going in. Side pockets that are too tight is a minor issue, as most shots are played into the corner in pool.

I like the way these tables are playing so far.

True, but most all balls are played shape for the corners because you're able to hit the rail before the pocket, making them much larger than the corner, seems abnormal and very few if any aggressive shots are pocketed in the side going multiple rails for shape. Even the players demeanor is less animated because of this, too quiet for this attacking game, too much bunting.

But hey, it's the way I look at it, like Neils saying 4'' is too small for niner.

Regardless of how tight the corner pockets are, side pockets should always be 1/2” larger, even at the pro level. In my opinion, anything less changes the game and is a gaffe table.

It is going to become beating a dead horse from me soon, but Chris Renfro been sayin' the same so happy to have him aboard in this boat:

Pretreated cloth for every new event is the way to go! And return to 4.25" corners, sides - appropriately wider than as of now too. Problem solved!
