I think they'll do fine. I hope they have fun. Will anyone really be surprised if Allison Fisher was ranked 75th in the first year? I smell V-Cash.

Again you are speculating. Accustats has PROVED that the breaker does not win most of the time, contrary to popular belief. God, you are insufferable. You want to bet on something? Let's let someone do a test where they break 1000 times in eight ball using a Sardo rack and take a picture of the layout AFTER the break. I will bet you that more than 50% of the time there will not be a clear runout available without issues. We can let an independent jury decide whether the layout is easily runnable or not, easily being from a PROFESSIONAL perspective. Of course this is rhetorical but I hope that you get the point. ON an anecdotal level I break twice as hard as Cheyenne Pete, I squat the cueball in the middle of the table, balls fly everywhere and either I don't make any OR there are clusters that make the runnout difficult. Pete breaks softly and the balls open up like a lotus for him to enjoy at leisure. I could give you plenty of other such examples from my 20+ years of playing at a shortstop level and being fortunate enough to befriend many pro players but it would be wasted. I am just happy that you NOW seem to agree that the top women indeed have a good chance to remain on tour.

FYI, I have beaten Loree Jon, and Monica Webb (twice), and gone 7-7 with Sarah E. until I miscued on the 7 and never got back to the table. And I played 15 years of 8 ball before I learned 9 ball. Maybe that may bump me up to 146th? lol

I just want to get out there and play my best and you know what..??? If I wind up 150th, so what? I came, I saw, I gave my best, I was part of the best thing (potentially) to happen to pool and hopefully had the time of my life!
If I don't wind up 150th.... well, hopefully I'll get to retain my tour card....more than likely will have at least met expenses and got 1 year of the best pool that I could ever hope to have and oh, had my one ppol wish granted....... to finally be back playing alongside the men. NOT because I am a "women play equal with men" sign carrier but because that was really the last time that I actually ENJOYED playing professional pool!!!! Back when the women and men played together (alongside each other) it was exciting, we had opportunities to learn from the men (and they from us!), I enjoyed it alot.
My point is... (I guess) that I'm excited and getting ready. Fast or famine, make it or break it, fair well or fail..... I'm going to try my best and enjoy being a part of this experience. My only hope is that when qualifying opens up next year, my husband gets his chance!
Good Luck to you and I'll see ya in Orlando!!!!

I just wanted to say that I was excited to see you on that list. I know that many may not know you, but you play some of the best 8 ball I have seen ANYONE play. I am so impressed with your game and discipline. More than any other woman, I will be sweating your matches the most. You fine tune that big table stroke, and you will be above most. You have as much knowledge as anyone.

You were so smart to quit the tour and clean up at BCA, etc. Your grit and determination and skills make you a fearsome opponent and I do respect your game. I have not seen the Japanese gal play but read Jackie's bio, so I don't really think any of us are total idiots with a cue (especially after watching Mika and Ismael's match at the US Open!) and like you, I am savoring every moment of this beautiful experience. I will be chronicling my experiences in "On the Wire'. Watch for the interview with Kevin in there too next month. Can't wait to see you in Nov. and hang out.

Oh hell.... I'm not gonna go there. I once heard a saying that should sum up why: You should never wrestle with a pig. You both get dirty, but HE likes it!
This does not happen during every match of the women's tournament. It is only done for the tv matches because it's encouraged by ESPN to generate excitement. I had never been to a women's tournament nor a tv match until I went to the BCA this yr. I found it highly annoying but at the same time, I understand the concept. ESPN is targeting an audience larger than pro pool players. People who know pool & are in the pool world understand the difference between hard shots & easy shots. Joe Schmo sitting at home doesn't have that knowledge. Someone can make what those of us "in the know", know as an awesome shot. However to the person sitting at home that doesn't recognize the level of difficulty, the whole shot & it's magnificence is lost on them. Applause for a shot is saying good job. While some shots are not applause worthy by some of our standards, we still want people that "don't know" to appreciate the game & it's level of difficulty in general. IMHO FWIWRun the Century said:It will be interesting to see how the women adjust to not getting applause for every 3 foot straight in shot - that is so demeaning I cant believe ESPN allows it.
