Hi guys. I am a cue maker, and I know my woods pretty well, but I am having a hard time getting a positive ID on this wood. I at first thought it might be a spalted maple, but now do not just because of the workability and the coloring of it. I traded for this wood, but they weren't sure what it was either. I have made a cue from it and it is finishing out nice, but before I can list it anywhere, I would like to be able to ID the wood. The cue is cored and is not yet finished, but here are a couple of pics to see if one of you wise ones can help me out here. It may be really obvious, and just not one I have used before. Thanks in advance........

It's not a wood that I'm familiar with but what I do see is that the curl in the board
has disappeared in the finished product. Could be a different face I'm looking at though.
In all honesty, I'm not sure they are the same wood.

It is in fact the exact same piece of wood before it was cut down and yes they do look quite different. The color changed also upon clear coat being added.

Indian tamarind? Now that I look at it more, I don't really think so.
