I just had a friend return from South America with a bunch of wood in his suitcase. The rounds are from a local funiture factory so I assume the wood is local also. They are all heavier than maple and appear to be hardwoods but I do not recognize them. Any one help me out.

They all look like brazilian cherry to me. I would bet money on that being furniture parts and from where you stated.

If it is braz cherry, it'll stay straight. I have never had braz cherry that moved. The stuff is unwarpabe. This stuff could be anything. Looks a lot like that red/brown grainy rosewood that Brunswick used in Titleists forever.
Thanks for your help. The top one has the colour of South American Cocobolo, the next has a slight pink tinge, the third is muddy brown and the last is very blond. My camera does not take the best of pictures and neither do I.
