Wood score!

Here's a few of mine. Flash brightened them up a lot. They are actually quite a bit darker in person. The bronze undertone takes over with the flash.

Yup, that looks a lot like mine. Just enough hues and highlights to create interest when finished.

Another wood Texas Ebony is sort of like to me is chechen, but chechen has more natural blonds mixed in.
 
If you have any scraps you'd like to get rid of or decide to cut any pen blanks, please let me know. I'd be interested. Pen blanks are generally 3/4" x 3/4" x 5 or 6"

Yup. Looks just like Eric said. The problem with Texas ebony is that usually it is milled up with no regard for the grain or sapwood.
