https://ctsondemand.com/mobilebracketviewer.aspx?BracketID=7fb7bf44-8c2a-4573-ac0c-e81f9d161b99

Mega match is Jayson Shaw v Filler.
Other good matchups -
Johann Chua v Ko Pin Yi
Ralf v Alex

Americans Billy Thorpe v Tyler Styer drawn against each other and so are Taiwanese Chang Jung Lin v Kevin Cheng.
Bracket is lopsided - top half much much tougher than bottom half. Only 4 in top 10 Fargo remaining and all 4 in top half.
Only 6 are from Top 16 Fargo.

1st match Starts 10am tomorrow (25July) but sadly it will not be streamed. They will only stream from 1230pm the quarterfinals / last 8 onwards .

Wow, that sucks. Would love to have seen Shaw vs. Filler.

Maybe someone will stream it on Faceplant.

They announced on the last match tonight that streaming tomorrow would start with the 10 am match.

and that looks like Shaw/Filler

Wow, what a crazy draw!

Shaw blind drew Filler, just as he did at the US Open in April.

The only two Americans left, Thorpe and Styer, drew each other.

The only two Taiwanese players left, Chang and Cheng, drew each other.

Top half of the draw is downright impossible, bottom half is relatively mild.

All that said, though, it's a rock solid last 16 that figures to deliver some high drama.

Correction: The Ko brothers are still in, so four left from Taiwan.

Nice pay day here, with each match doubling the prize money. Only the final match does not pay double to the winner. Too bad first place is not 40K instead of 30K. I guess that would be icing on the cake. Thanks to Predator for doing their share to make pro pool more lucrative. This is the best year for pro pool I've seen in decades with quite a few well paid events and that's a good thing. More money means more young people getting into the game, more exposure and more recognition for the best players.

On another note, Matchroom heard the complaints and jacked up the prize money in the U.S. Open next year to 375K! First place will be $60,000! I think pool is catching up with bowling as a legitimate profession. Streaming is great but I'd like to see pro pool catch on with a TV network in this country. We have a lot of choices and it's not an expensive sport to televise. The top promoters of events held in this country could work together to make this happen.

One last thing. Jeremy Jones is my guy in the booth. He makes everyone else look good who works with him. He should be working every major event!

This is getting good.

Really anybody from here would be deserving.

We pool fans are the real winners. Just terrific pool for free!

What happened with this bracket? Was it played?

I can't see that file, but I'm guessing the confusion is resulting from the first bracket only running til the last 16. The rest of the bracket from there will not be played out as the tourney switches to single elimination for all remaining players. On the brackets page there's a place to click into Stage 2 to see the newly drawn bracket. https://ctsondemand.com/mobilebracketviewer.aspx?BracketID=7fb7bf44-8c2a-4573-ac0c-e81f9d161b99

Billy is playing really well. He doesn't seem intimidated by anyone. If I had to bet on a lower rated player most likely to knock out one of the top 5 it would be him, he brings his best and steals those matches if given the opportunity. He is playing better than ever. Add in his break which against SVB looked insurmountable and he has a shot to keep going. His performance kind of reminds me of Sky's at last year's US Open International where he used his deadly cut break and improved run out skills to take 3rd and go on to tremendous results at DCC.

Tyler Styer is following close behind. What a performance. Talk about a shooting start, his Fargo Rate is rising and doesn't reflect his real time game. Don't take your eyes off of him, like Billy he'll take every match he can get. He has the fearlessness of the underdog with the game of a champion and he has a positive attitude that won't quit!

So go USA!

That said, JL Chang looks like the man to beat. Once he gets a shot at the one ball it just seems impossible to even imagine him not getting out. He's breaking well, moving well, and is at his peak. Everyone there has the game to beat him a set but they're going to have to do it by delivering a flawless game, he's not going to give an inch.

Filler vs Shaw is a crazy first round draw, these two are always live to go all the way. They will both be feeling the pressure of this match but I look for them both to play stellar pool and the winner may be determined by one moment of weakness or a bad rub or two. The early lead will be important in that set. Filler might have a slight momentum edge based on recent performances but Shaw is getting hulked out to play SVB and is ready to fight back against this upstart.

Alex is just inspiring. I can't believe I bet against him on the Kaci match this weekend. He has so much heart and knowledge and strikes the balls as well as anyone in the universe. I'd love to see him catch top form and win this event!

Plenty more good players from overseas, some I know well, some I'm just learning about. GL to all and play well!

Yes,tournament structure/brackets is very confusing. Why was stage one bracket still showing upcoming matches e.g. Shaw vs Feiijen

I fully agree with you here. His commentary is some of my favorite. Super knowledgable but in a humble way. Truly admires the skill of these players and it comes across. Love his calm and confident demeanor too. Especially dig him doing 1 hole commentary but he's great for these major events for sure.

I like the way the prize money is being spread.....
....only way the game can grow

Shaw and Filler tied at 7-7. Incredible play by both players.

I don't think I've ever seen two players play this well, this fast, on this big a stage.
