World 10-Ball Championships, Feb-Mar 2024, Las Vegas, The Rio

Some of those party crashers are well able to cause upsets. [...]

You never know where you're going to find party crashers. Look who knocked Mr. Biado out of the Swanee event a few hours ago

i watched her yesterday, i believe she recently landed so presumably jet-lagged. she didn't miss balls but snookered herself every other rack. she has also slowed down a bit from a few years ago when she always three stroked. she has added another practice stroke to her PSR. still a fairly fast player though

Some really strange decisions on who made it into to this event. Both David Alcaide and Sanjin have posted and said they weren’t invited but somehow Hunter Lombardo was? How does that make any sense?

i think it's national/continental federation allotments, so presumably hunter is there because of BCA and sanjin didn't get the nod from EPBF. but, to add another letter soup acronym, ICBW.

When Hunter wins the event you'll understand... j/k, good question!

Won't be surprised if Hunter is a trust fund kid, can fly play all over world despite not finishing regularly in the money. No offence to Hunter fans

I'll be there for a couple of days for the WC10B. I decided not to stay at the hotel based on multiple previous bad experiences. I think the new owners also have to get rid of all the previous senior staff if they want change.

A simple test will be whether small, unripe bananas are still $4 at the snack bar by the playing area. I talked to someone who talked to a food service person there. The cost of ingredients for meals had to be held to 10% of the price. I've heard multiple times that the standard for restaurants is 30%. Maybe that has changed with the remodel. We'll see if it comes through on the bananas though, because those cost less than 20 cents wholesale.

Look forward to seeing you Bob. You'll be pleased to hear there are average sized bananas in various stages of ripidity for --brace yourself-- $3

This is Las Vegas Open? Aren't there man and women divisions? Could you provide the link to this bracket please? Thank you!
That Biado/Chen match was at the Jay Swanee Memorial event at Griff's pool room in Las Vegas a few days ago, not at the Las Vegas Open. The bracket for that Swanee event is here: https://digitalpool.com/tournaments/28th-annual-jay-swanson-memorial-the-swanee/bracket

For the current Las Vegas Open:
