Seems like in 10-ball, the best shooter always wins. Nine-ball is sometimes more of a game of luck. This kid Shane is on fire! :D

Got to give a HUGE shout-out to Shane, the new American pool champion en route to be a legend. GO, SHANE. BRING HOME THE BACON!
I here ya. Shane emerging the past couple of tournament really gives American pool something to cheer about. How many times will we see Shane among Dennis and Alex on top of the tournament payouts the next decade or two?

And where the heck did Cliff come from? Amazing. Go USA!

LOL! :D I know, but Shane deserves his own thrown on this thread. He's truly a winner, whether he wins or loses at this point. He is's America's great hope when it comes to keeping pool alive and well with thorougbreds, American thoroughbreds. :p

Cliff better dig in his heels and get this show on the road. Next time I click the mouse, I want to see Cliff ahead. :o

Looks like two in a row so far! :D This tournament soldier racket must suit Shane just fine. The on-the-road routine gets old real quick.

If Cliff's in stroke, he can be a tough opponent. He's got nerves of steel from competing in high-pressure situations his whole life, not all tournaments either! ;)

Ah, yes. I can see it now: An All-American Final! That has a nice ring to it, doesn't it? :D

Sure seens like it's been a while since the last update. Maybe JCIN is taking some more wonderful pictures of Shane's triumph! :p

So basically, what it takes for an American to win a world title again (first time since 2002) it to host a tournament on American soil and play a game that no one else is playing out side of the USA on tables with big pockets.... ;)

With all the much respect to all those fine players, I want to see an American win the 2007 WPC in manila... but I know that it won't happen.

Man, I know you don't want to get me started. I don't want to get started. :D

Where in the world were those European players 20, 30, and 40 years ago? Pool was happening in America, not in Europe. Some European players in recent times emigrated to the U.S. to live here, so they could enjoy eating the American pool pie.

Of course, we all know why the Philippines came to America to play pool because it was HAPPENING on U.S. soil.

Times are a changing. Pool may be in the comeback trail with players like Shane and Cliff. This is 10-ball, Baby, where luck and rack rigging don't enter into the fray.

I think you have a point here, but I think the location of the event is pretty irrelevant. Wherever a WPC is hosted, it will always favor the local players. Yet there hasn't been a WPC held in the states for what... a decade +? Do the Americans always have to be the underdogs? I don't think they need criticism for playing on their own soil.

As far as the game, I think 10-ball is a better game than 9-ball in deciding who is the best player. Thusfar, there haven't been any special breaks like in 9-ball where the wing ball goes in every time. 10-ball requires a better break, more pocketing skills, and position.

Yikes!! looks like dennis is making a comeback !!!
shane better hurry up and win !!!
That last games is always the hardest to get lol

Yep, pool used to be an all American game and even today there is more action in the USA then in Europe.

But the truth is that the way the game (9ball) is played has changed and players need to adjust and not cry about how luck has a part of it, it had a part of it since day one but as long as American players were on top it was cool....
Not just American players need to adjust but most of the older players as well, players like Bustemante can not use their type of stroke on tables with tight pockets... and there hasn't been a really outstending American player since Johnny Archer.... there was Corey Deuel but he was gone after one year at the top...

Bottom line is that Asia is producing top players in a higher rate then any other ****ry and their discipline is second to none.
Where you have pool being learned in schools, you know where champions are raised.

Stop living in the past!
players like Shane should spend some time in Asia to strengthen their game so they could face the top players of the world.
