I love team pool :love: And World Teams Championship is back.
Last edition was 8 years ago and covered 3 disciplines of 8,9,10 ball https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Team_Championship_(pool)
Now it is only 10 ball with different format

Prizemoney 136,000 Euros. (My guess is winning team wins at least 30,000 Euros)

Format
Double Elimination down to quarterfinals
Each match is best of 5 sets. Each set race to 4
If a match is tied at 2-2 after four sets, a shootout set will determine the winner.

No USA team yet, eh? SVB is supposed to be playing a match in the Philippines at that time.

I'll wait and see what type of crazy format they have concocted for the latest Predator infomercial before I get too high or low on this event. It was certainly more compelling when it had multiple disciplines involved, and I wouldn't count on SVB or Sky having much interest in this. Both haven't been playing the other Predator events really and I imagine the cost to participate vs the chance of making a profit is pretty low.

Spartan posted the format up in post #1. It looks to be essentially the same as the CSI/Predator Pro Billiard Series -- 10-Ball races to 4 with a possible deciding shootout. The 4 types of races to 4 might add some interest.

Indeed it was, then again there was a Predator Canada Men's Open, until there wasn't... I was only trying to say that I would withhold my final judgment until I saw it, but I'm certainly not optimistic about the event's prospects.

So I doubt the Chinese will make it out for this, considering they didn't even have anyone in the Asian 9-ball in Singapore. But a team of Siming Chen, Wu Jiajing and some other 800+ player would be nice to watch, and would have to be considered a heavy favorite if they were playing.

I think I will be there watching, since there is a chance, that one of my practice partners will be in team Austria 2.

Although last predator event in Klagenfurt was kind of...boring.
I don't really like the set format with a shootout in the end and the 10 ball events don't seem to attract as much top players as the big 9 ball tournaments.

I thought I saw a mention somewhere of Styer traveling to Austria for this?

Cannonball comin’!
Gotta say I’m a little bit giddy thinking bout this. I like doubles events and have never seen a pro team event like this.

Wonder who Spain, Poland, and Greece will field. Who was that kid from South America (Brazil?) that played so well a few Predator events back? Field a team around him.

Spain fielded their best -World Cup of Pool winners FSR and Alcaide plus Amalia Matas. They will be one of the favorites

Poland sending their reigning World 10B Champion Wojciech. Likely will be joined by Zielinski who won a Predator 10 Ball event earlier this year
