World 14.1 Rd 2 Brackets Are Up!

I imagine the players' records are erased coming into this round. So a guy with no losses could get knowcked out with on strike one?
 
174, it just might be a record. I heard the commentators on a clip a saw in Colin's youtube group (I think) say the record was 152 (don't shoot me if it's 154) at that time. I'd love to know.

The highest ever run in competion is 182 by Joe Procita. I'm not sure what year it was, I'd guess it was in the 1950's.

Won't these records have an asterisk though? These games are to 200. It sounds like Procita's record was also in a game to at least 200, but aren't most world tournaments only to 150 the whole way?

I'm not sure what the game was when Procita ran the 182. To tell you the truth, the first time I heard of the 182 I immediately thought that he had gotten on 3 fouls twice to go under -30 and then ran out the game...not entirely impossible. But I agree there
should be an asterisk on rns in 200 point games, I mean can you imagine Mosconi in a tournament with this format?

Yeah, I saw that. But I don't understand it. If it's single elimination, how will they have two semi-finals?

If it's single elimination, how can they not? Wouldn't there be two matches in the second to last round (two matches, two player per match)? The winner of each match goes to the final?

The way I read it 6pm and 830pm were different round. They are the same round just different times. I get it now. lol :o
