It is with pleasure to announce that Dick Jaspers has accepted our invitation to the Carom Club to conduct clinics the week of the Olhausen II 3C tournament.

Please go to the Carom Club website for details on the Dick Jaspers Clinics and the Olhausen II Tournament.

There are only 28 slots open for the clinics and the tournament is almost 1/2 full 2 months before the event

Dick Jaspers!? What an opportunity! If I participated, would I perhaps be able to record this for my own personal assessment? Thanks.

Hi JStarkweather,

Yes you could. He has indicated no such objections. He is very interested in working with U.S. players

So the B tourney is 24 people, and there are 28 slots open for the Jaspers clinic - can somebody outside of the tourney sign up for the Jaspers clinic?

There is no direct connection between the B tounament and the Jaspers Clinic other than the Carom Club's desire to promote 3C to everyone.

There is no reason why you can't sign up for the clinic and not play in the tournament.

So the Cost is $250.00 for Dick Jaspers Clinic,No Matter if you are a USBA MEMBER or Not?

In other words No USBA Member discount for Clinic?

This is a great idea and great opportunity. Nice going, Steve.

Jerry Karsh brought Dick and Ceulemans in for a weekend clinic at Shakespeare's in Denver and it was very expensive. It drew about 10 people if I remember and a tremendous success. $250 is a bargain to get to learn from one of the best in the world. And, Dick is one heck of a nice guy. I wish I was closer.

I'm a big fan of "build it and they will come". I hope those that would like to take lessons from the World Champion will sign up this week. Dick Jaspers needs to make his airplane reservations.

Please contact me asap to sign up for this once in a life opportunity.

Unfortunately, I cannot attend this event. But I wish I could. I participated in the clinic at Shakespeare's in Denver several years ago organized by Jerry Karsh that Dick Jaspers and Raymond Ceulemans put on and it was great in every respect. I encourage all who are thinking about going to to this clinic in Michigan to go.

Thanks Bruce,

Whether we like it or not, the best players in the world do not reside in the U.S.

We need to expose ourselves to the best players in the world to begin to play at their level. Dick Jaspers will be in Grand Rapids, Michigan for the whole week. I encourage all 3C players of all levels of ability to learn from the best. These opportunities do not come our way every day.

YOU HAVE TIL AUG 14TH. TO SIGN UP AND SEND YOUR FEE.

DICK JASPERS WILL NEED TO MAKE PLANE RESERVATIONS BY THEN.*

* I don't mean to yell. I just want everyone to experience the best player in the world. This is a big opportunity.

Therese,

Nice playing in the Carom Cafe tourney! Sure could use your help promoting women's 3C in the U.S. What is your situation in the Netherlands? Ever considered getting a work permit in the U.S and making women's 3c a household name?

EUREKA BILLIARDS

PRESENTS THE DICK JASPERS CLINIC

Steve,
Very sad to hear that the Jaspers clinic had to be cancelled. We need a billiards patron to support these things, I guess. Anyone have a wealthy relative that is willing to support basic activities, to promote 3 cushion billiards in america?

Tiger37373,

I couldn't agree with you more! It is very disappointing. On a brighter note,
there are many people that have their heart in the right place. And there have been many generous contributors through the years that have donated a lot of time and money. Right now is not the time to be timid!

california billionaire!!??

several months ago, michael shamos, an attorney and 3C player from pittsburgh, stopped by carom cafe. we were shooting the breeze about the future of the game in u.s. he mentioned that there is a billionaire in california who is a fan of 3C. i don't remember his name but wouldn't it be nice if he checked under his couch cushions and found a couple million to support 3C in this country.

I don't know who this wealthy person is, but I have sent a message to Mike Shamos to find out.
