Congrats to him... trusts why Filipinos are so strong in pool. If an American player did that nobody would care. They definitely wouldn’t get awards, money, or recognition. They would get taxed lol.

Just another reason that many Americans root for the Filipinos

another great champion from the world capitol of pool

Calling a pool player an "athlete" is a stretch by almost any definition.

Funny stuff.

Hand /eye coordination, mastery of fine motor skills, critical Decision making, endurance (walking, squatting, and bending for hours on end), countless hours of practice....yep nothing athletic about that....

Sorry to see you kind and informative post disturbed
by this guy nobody ever heard of

the discipline and dedication that your country players show

and another reason that the filipinos are so
loved and favored over hear

keep us informed about Efren, even if he is a little removed from his best days
he has earned a lot of respect and admiration from those of us in the usa
who know pool

Pool is a lot like Tiddlywinks or Jenga, they all take "skill" in their genre...none of them are athletic endeavours.

Horseshoe pitching champions are almost always part of an athletic association....
...I feel billiard players fall into this category also.

Simplistic points of view have a lot of trouble with ‘grey areas’....but life is full of grey areas.

Have you seen Buddy Hall stalking the table? It's a bar game.

Isnt basketball a game?? Do you go to a basketball game or a basketball contest??
I know when I go they call it a game, as in basketball game. Same with football and baseball.

The Pool Capital of the World. Win here and you can win anywhere.

Have you seen Thorsten Hohman, Mika Immonen, Niels Feijen, Alex Lely, Ronnie OSullivan stalking the table? Its DEFINITELY a sport for those who decide to approach it as a sport, these players could most likely give you orange crush in long distance running/swimming/any stamina-demanding activity. But that would be of no surprise given your ever-lasting negativity and bitterness shown here on forum..

A violin is a fiddle..it all depends on the manner that you play.

So if you think pool isn’t a sport, it may be time to re-evaluate your approach.
