7:06: Poland makes a nice comeback when Skowerski
slides a neat 6 ball in the side pocket. Poland go back in front 5-4.

7:13: Poland has grabbed control with a break and run. Italy better find something now or they'll be saying "arrevederci!" to Manila.

7:31: Italy hangs on but just barely. Poland was cruising to the finish line when Skowerski blew an easy 7 ball, leaving the table for the Italians who clear things up and get one back. 8-5 now.

7:34: Bruno nails a tough 1-9 combo and Italy crawls back from the dead. 8-6 now.

7:43: Italy was looking good with an open table when Fabs misses the seven ball. Tragedy for the Italians as the Poles run out for the win and spot in the semis against Chinese-Taipei. Well done for Poland.

Philippines-B 2 - 4 Finland

8:02: A very nervous Makkonen misses a straight in 9-ball and hands over the rack to the Philippine team of Reyes and Bustamante. Crowd erupts and I don't know how Makkonen can calm down. He's a nervous wreck at this point.

8:15: Efren scratches and gives the Finns ball in hand. The calm the nerves and run out the table to tie it up at 1-1.

8:20: In the next rack, Busti nails a sensational kick shot into the three ball that has the crowd pumped. Philippines clears to go up 2-1.

8:25: Dry break for the Philippines and the Finns calmly run the table to make the score 2-2.

8:30: Finns break and run as they have totally calmed the nerves and look in stroke now. 3-2 in favor of the Finns.

8:32: Finland breaks and runs yet again to go up 4-2. They've got to get as many racks on the wire now while the crowd is quieted down because surely Reyes and Busti will mount a fightback soon.

Philippines-B 2 - 5 Finland

8:45: After the Philippines takes about 8 minutes to use the bathroom, the match resumes and Makkonen scratches after a pot and gives the Philippines ball in hand and they run the table. Score now 5-3. Not sure about how kosher it is to take a toilet break when the other team has the break and is on a roll.

8:57: A break and run for the Philippines gets the score line to 6-5. Crowd getting back into it.

9:04: The rack starts with a push out by Finland then both teams miss on the 3 ball. Reyes fouls after a Finland safety and the Finns get a critcal ball in hand. Finns run the balls for a big rack. 7-5 now.

9:10: A big time break and runnout for the Finns puts them one away from the semis.

Those minute-by-minute updates on the Matchroom Sports page is about as cool as I've ever seen in the pool world in my lifetime.

It's similar to closed captioning. Do they have a stenographer there? That's amazing! :cool:

9:14: A sensational rack to close the match by Finland sends the thousands in attendance home in despair. The Finns finish it wih a great 7-9 combo by Mika and it's hugs all around as Finland dispose of the last remaining hopes for the Philippines, 9-4. A very convincing win for the Finns as they move into the semis tomorrow here where they will play USA.

I'm not sure if they have a stenographer there Jen, probably...

I would like to describe it in my own words like I used to, like these past few years, but it's so difficult now because of the lagging stream. The stream wasn't like this last year, or the year before...
