OK first match off Hungary first to break and ready to rock and roll. Hungary should edge out Russia :thumbup:
 
Hungary is proving their win over 3rd seeded China was not a fluke, they're making mincemeat of Russia right now, up 4 games to 1. They are really a good team...

Agreed, and Russia are showing that their poor effort against Hong Kong was as great a reason for concern as I believed.

Not over yet, but Russia in trouble here.
 
Yuk! An absolutely horrible push out has cost Hungary a rack. They pushed into a near impossible safety from against the bottom rail and trapped themselves.

Let's see what Russia can do with this unexpected gift, now breaking behind 5-2.

After a brilliant position shot by Stepanov, Chinakov failed to effectively break out the three ball and Stepanov missed the kick he was left.

Hungary on the hill, 6-2, but they've broken dry.
 
After a safety battle played very well by both sides, Russia won the race to the shot and completed the runout comfortably to pull within 6-3. If anything can get them going, it's a well played rack like this one.
 
but you can say what you want, stepanov has such a beautifull fluid stroke :thumbup:

hope to see some more racks, makes me hot to play myself afterwards

I agree, Stepanov has a great stroke and the Russians seem to have found their form now. 6-4 can certainly be done.
