Why didn't they call it World 9 ball and why did they use those goofy balls?

Right. The tournament was great and I'm glad I saw some of it on youtube but I don't think they did themselves any favors with the choice of balls and leaving out 9 ball in the title. I wonder if they have tried to line up a corporate sponsor and give them naming rights " (corporate sponsor) world 9 ball championship".

You're completely right. His official title is 2021 World Pool Champion.

I think his title is far more legitimate than some previous world championships where all of the entrants lived within 200 miles of the Statue of Liberty.
