World Pool Championships - Updates

Well, he's just made a game win. Sometimes you need a little momentum when you're in a match like this. It's difficult to sit and watch the opponent do all the shooting, but that's pool sometimes.

It would be thrilling to have it a tight match! :)
Yeah. Just like the previous match between JA n Kuo

I hope I don't live to eat those words. It is very easy for champions like Kuo and Bustie to shoot out like a rocket from here.

It's anybody's guess who will get to the finish line first! :shocked2:

Do not forget that it is alternate break... not so easy to come back!

This is absolutely shameful that there is no coverage for this. I am actually kind of shocked that this has happened.

Who's running this operation, anyway?!

Here's to hoping Bustamante goes and finishes this one off!
Admittedly I'd have been pulling a little more for Archer had it come down them two...but really the only person I can think of who I would like to see win this more than him (and who deserves one just as much if not more) would be Jose Parica! In my opinion they are the two most deserving of winning one. :)

This shows the difference between the U.S. and the Philippines.

It's always been this way.

Though some loathed the IPT and everything associated with it, it was a MULTI-MILLION-DOLLAR payout. Some people actually did get paid big bucks, the most in the history of all of pool.

There was not one mention of the IPT and its million-dollar payouts in the American media. But you can be sure that the lawn mower races and the hot dog eating contests were broadcast nationally on ESPN all across the United States while pool players were competing for millions of dollars.

I really hope these guys running the event will do better the next 3 years. This really sucks ! Maybe somebody is recording it and it will come up somewhere...this is a piece of history right here and it will definetly get Busti into the Hall of Fame ! This is where he belongs....one of the best to ever play the game !

Jose told me that he won the first world pool championship ever in Japan. It was not hosted by Matchroom Sports back then, but all the same, Jose Parica claims to have the first championship. Ask him about it if you ever get the chance to chat with him! :)

How much does first place pay, aside from bragging rights? Anybody know?

I hope they at least give a pretty trophy for this win. :)
