It's Disgusting
I mean when sky sports was running the event, it was excellently covered and pretty simple to find the channel on sopcast. Now it's like a complete mystery as to where anything is. I mean this is the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS we're talking about. You can watch the world championships of SCRABBLE for christs sake when they put it on espn once a year.
They need to have the world title played for right here on AMERICAN SOIL. Where ACCUSTATS, TAR, and any of the major hosting tv networks can get together and give this event the exposure that it needs. At the very least host it in a country with the ability to do the same.
If anyone else finds a suitable link either on Dish2net or Sopcast just let us all know. Good luck to everyone, and Happy Fourth of JULY. In light of the day i must say GO USA, and our last remaining hope.... THE SCORPION!!!

5 Filipinos in the quarters and 2 are unknown but have beaten the bests. We lost UK's last hope. Is the game between Archer and Klat late starter? Or they are just toooo slow. Oops that's include Tot and Hijikata.

I'd imagine it's finishes or near finished. The updates are just really behind. The Yang match was 6-6 and jumped to 11-9 a minute ago. I expect the Archer/Klatt match to do the same seeing as it's been at that score for 45 mins now.
Klatt isn't the fastest player and doesn't shoot until hes a 100% ready, very deliberate player. He plays out of the room I play at and i've played and seen him play many times. Great guy, not cocky very humble.
From what I have heard, Tot won this match since at least half an hour... and this guy is a fast shooter

This is truly nuts. Here we are on the largest pool forum in the world. The co-owner of the forum is a WPA Board Member and we can't get ANY news about this event other than the dismal scoring and people relying on texts sent by players at the event.
And people wonder why pool SUCKS.
Qatar is one of those countries where people drive around gold - not gold plated Porsches -
And we can't even get proper live scoring and at least one webcam?
I need to become a fan of some other sport and just play pool with no thought at all as to the state of the game and how the pros are doing. Really. In 2010, the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS and it's not any better than this????????
And then I wonder are they going to play it out today? So all these players started at 10am and have played non-stop all day and by the time it's done the winner will have played six matches in one day.
This is how we treat the best in our sport?

I totally agree with your post. BTW they have to play 3 round today. The semis and the final will be play tomorrow.
So, is pool a sport or not? One of the mandates of the WPA was to get pool into the olympics.
So why this rule?

Any hat or cap."
You expect a player to be on their feet walking miles around a table for 10 hours a day under intense pressure and you won't allow them to pick comfortable SPORT shoes?
So why this rule?

This was "seen" with the 8 ball championships earlier this year, and now with the 9 ball event. AND it will be the same thing next year with the events being held there, if these same people have been given the rights for multiple years. Great job WPA :bash:
well, I guess the Hasidic Jewish population will never have a WPA pool star...no hats of any kind. What about those who practice Suffee'ism? While their head-wear isn't necessarily religious, it does keep their hair from getting in the way.
