Hopefully it won't be a bitter-sweet win for either of these fierce competitors. It would be a shame to have a victory hampered by the fact that no one ever saw it happen.

It is hard to believe there's nobody filming this.

Is Matchroom the promoter? :confused:
 
I went over to the Matchroom forum, which is where a lot of Filipino pool folk like to chat. I hadn't been there in a while. I just learned that Matchroom discontinued that forum. Wow!

Sheesh! :angry: I thought for sure somebody over there would know what's happening with the WPC, at least where a link would be. :(

It is a real shame. I always hoped he will eventually win this title. Now in the freaking 21st Century it is hard to believe that you can not see this. What a shame. I offer my services to the WPA and others, I have a team of atomic physics genies ready to teach them how to stream with a camera and a laptop LOL
 
I guess I am late to the party, but WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY is there no filming of this so-called WORLD pool championship?

Who promoted this event?

Matchroom backed out of the WPC a few years ago, which is probably why it never existed last year. I have no idea who is behind the event this year, and in all honesty I know only what I've read on this forum over the past few weeks.

One thing I do know though, is that it will be held in Qatar for 3 more years.

The consensus was that the matches were to be filmed for live internet stream and for local broadcast, but the we have access to a feed of the local channel, and the WPC was never aired as intended. There was no live internet stream as intended either, which leads me to believe that the event isn't even being recorded...at all.

I'm assuming...but it certainly seems that way.

JoeyinCali posted a link earlier in this thread.

For some reason, my Google Chrome browser won't let me get it. I am just reading this thread getting the updates. When I click that link, it says "Service Unavailable" for me. :(
