Honest comments by Albin
“To win it again or come close with such a top field, it would be special. It’s even sweeter when you win with all the greats in the tournament” -So he is saying if he wins this year (which has much stronger field than last year), it’s even sweeter than the win last year?

Well said and a classy and humble thing to say for the reigning world pool champion as he prepares to try to defend. Nonetheless, there's no real need for humility here, as all one can do is beat the opponents with whom one is presented.

Albin answered the call a year ago against a rock-solid field, and that's all I'm going to remember. Yes, the Asians weren't present last year, other than a few of them (such as Oi and Gomez), but they are here this year and will present some stiff competition.

That said, at the International 9-ball in October, the last four standing were SVB, Aranas, Orcullo and Albin, whose play was well above the other three down the stretch, so we know that Albin has the ability to prevail no matter who stands in his way.

Wishing this classy man and classy player the best of luck as he attempts the nearly impossible, namely defending the world pool championship. Nobody has won this event twice in a row in over 30 years (Strickland, 1990 and 1991).

Player stats:
- 20 players rated 800+
- 48 players rated 775+
- 78 players rated 750+
- 14 players rated <700
- 8 players unrated (Dino Nair, Hassan Shaaz Mohamed, Jeff Buckley, JJ Faul, Kyle Akaloo, Michal Gavinciak, Mohamed Shareef, Mycherif Zine El Abidine). Buckley is shown as a 418 but hard to believe a 418 would show up to this event.

Actually Michal Gavenciak (a player from Czech Rep) is not unrated, his AZB card shows FargoRate of 768. And he plays pretty sporty. He might have dropped several points, as current top 100 list ends at 763 and Michal doesn't make it.

Thanks for the name fix, he was listed as "Gavinciak".

2nd match Table 2
Ko Pin Yi v Jakub Koniar
Koniar was half of the long shot Slovenia team that made it to semis of World Cup of Pool last year

The big name seeds winning easily giving their opponents not more than 3 racks. Only upset so far is Pagulayan losing to Sebastian Batkowski (FR748) out of 20+ matches. Early indications are this event going according to script and we should many big name elites in quarterfinals/finals (unlike the recent World 10 Ball Championship)

Skyler v Corrieri (Table 1)

2 Questions

1. What is with the the 80s porno music on the Table 2 stream?

2. Is there a match on Table 1 right now? I just resubbed to DAZN, but this is all I'm seeing

They have this new addition to the show this year , a so called "Performance Coach".
They showed Albin making the last shot to win title last year and she was asked for advice to Albin before making the shot and she said make the shot quickly :ROFLMAO:
Not sure what value she adds to the show cos her advice have been generic obvious or cringeworthy without specifics in context of pool.
