World Pool Series, 10b Grand Final

So, to list Filler's complete path to victory:

1. Bye
2. Eric Lim 11-1
3. Alex Kazakis 9-11
4. John Morra 11-4
5. Alex Kazakis 13-5
6. Ruslan Chinakhov 13-8
7. Chris Melling 13-8
8. Ralf Souquet 17-11

Total -- 87-48 (winning percentage in games 64%)

Pretty impressive resume there, especially the last three. His only close match was his loss to Kazakis, which he avenged with a trouncing in the rematch. That shows character.

Joshua Filler is certainly one of the world's best players under 25 years of age.
But let's not forget that in this WPS he never had to face Orcollo, Kaci, Shaw, Aranas, Biado, Dechaine, and Gorst....all of whom are Fargorated at 800 or more.
Did Filler benefit from an easy draw? No, but he certainly was lucky to avoid having to face any of the above mentioned players. Let's see how he fares at the Derby.

Wrong and wrong. First, he's THE best player in the world under 25. Second, he had a very tough draw, not an easy one.

At the World Pool Series, he's one of just a few in the field who was up to dealing with the supertight table used for the stream. He was the best this week and has nothing to prove.

He won the 2017 China Open by beating JL Chang, whom I believe to be the world's best player, in the final. He then went 5-0 at the Mosconi, winning MVP honors for Europe. In 2018, he won the 10-ball players championship, outlasting a final four that included Orcullo, Kazakis, and Van Cortezza. He won the World 9-ball Championship over one of the best fields imaginable and had to beat the defending World 9-ball Champion in the final. And now, he topped a killer field at the World Pool Series 10-ball and you're making light of it ---- let's see what he does at the Derby? Like he's still got to validate his pedigree, LOL.

The kid has won finals in the biggest events over some of the superstars in our game and has shown he can knock off the great champions in big spots.

Wonder what he'll have to do to impress you.

Yeah, that world 9 ball championship. What a cakewalk.

Agree. We have to respect what he has achieved.
Folks forget how tough it is in Pool to win at least 1 major event every year. Pool isn’t like tennis where the top 4 or 5 players just play musical chairs passing the 4 Grabd Slam titles amongst themselves every year. At any major event , there are at least 2 dozen or more players who can win the whole thing. Filler has won at least 1 major event for past 2 years. I wasn’t convinced 1 year ago but I am convinced after he won W9B last month.
Like his play but don’t like his attitude.
Interestingly, he does very well in major international events but less so in domestic Euro events. Maybe it is the motivation or Euro players know his playing style better.
He is the hottest player right now (though that may change next month since the gao between top players is too close )
I would include him in group of first favourites to win any major event in next few months :D

Can’t wait to hear how it wasn’t that impressive for him to have to go through the previous two world champions.
