World Straight Pool Updates from New Jersey

Schmidt up 174-129. Feijen at the table shooting
Jasmin up 40-14 against Ortmann. Jasmin at the table. No, wait. She just missed.
Hohmann up 57-12 and shooting against Van den Berg.

Updates to come every 15 mins, but be patient as it's via my phone.

Jasmin / Ortmann: 45-29. Jasmin ahead. Jasmin shooting.

Schmidt / Feijen: 174 - 149. Schmidt ahead. Feijen shooting.

Hohmann / VDB: 71 - 12. Hohmann ahead. Hasn't left the table yet.

Schmidt at 183 and at the table. Feigen at 168.

Hohmann on break. 86-12 against VDB

Ormtann missing weird shots, and just got stuck against the stack. Played safe and left Jasmin a long long long shot against the rail. Jasmin nails it and begins a new run. She's at the table, and up 62-36.

Uh, somehow in the middle of my posting I noticed that Feijen is back at the table. How the hell did that happen?

So he's at the table and currently down 168-184. However, he definitely has the momentum on his side. He's making the most of his inning despite being down the entire match. I think he may have the edge to close it out.

Jasmin / Ortmann:

Safety battle ensues. Doesn't look like there will be an open shot for a few innings. Let's see who beats whom to the shot.

Hohmann / Van den Berg: Nick is at the table, down 86-12. He took a time out after Hohmann's long run. I'm sure his arm was a little cold from the long break during Throsten's run.

Jasmin / Ortmann: I think Jasmin is going to lose the safety battle.

Schmidt / Feijen: Niels still at the table looking strong. Should level up the score within the next rack. Close match.

Meanwhile there's really bad music being played from the iPod. The owner has really bad taste in music and should be banned for life.

Ortmann has ball and misses his tough second shot. These tables are playing TIGHT when you have to nail a ball down the rail.

Jasmin / Ortmann: 37-63. Jasmin at the table ahead and shooting.

Schmidt / Feijen: 184-182. Schmidt ahead, but Feijen at the table with a tough tough rack to run. Edit: just missed a shot, leaving the tough table for John to run. John doesn't look happy that Neils didn't sell out more of the rack. I don't blame him. Doesn't seem to phase him. John drills a tough bank shot to the applause of the crowd. Then he missed a shot, and conceded the rest of the match. Not a happy camper.

Hohmann / Van den Berg: Hohmann up 86-39. Nick at the table with his break shot. He makes it. Time to run more balls.

Van den Berg and Hohmann is turning out to be a reat match. They're really putting the heat on each other and running out.

Jasmin / Ortmann started out a little shaky. Ortmann has missed three easy shots, and miscued on a difficult shot. Meanwhile, Jasmin has missed one easy shot but otherwise seems to be controlling the racks better than Ortmann. She's playing her patterns carefully enough.... oh wait she just messed up and has a poor break shot.

Ok, that aside she's playing very much within herself and is keeping a cool head about things. The pressure doesn't seem to be affecting her much.

Score: 88 - 37. Jasmin ahead and at the table.

Just a quick aside from the matches going on:

So after Busta drills See, he's outside and my friend is talking to him. Quote the Busta: "I hope I play the girl tomorrow!" (Jasmin)

Hohmann / Van den Berg: 93-60. Hohmann back at the table with an awkward break shot in the side. He got way too straight on it, and can't seem to figure out what he wants to do with it.

Hohmann made a great side pocket break shot, went two rails to hit the pack.... and scratched.

Meanwhile Ortmann hasn't moved an inch from his chair. I don't think he's happy.

Ortmann on break. Jasmin played a safe after failing to get on the break ball. Ortmann is stuck against the stack.

Hohmann / Van den Berg: 92-60. Hohmann leading. Van den Berg back at the table.
