Worst or gayest pool things ever

At Least For Her It Was

Using the word "felt" instead of cloth. Pool tables are covered with cloth, such as Simonis cloth, Mali cloth, etc. Tables are recovered with cloth, not "refelted" with "felt".

In junior high school, I remember clearly that I 'Mali'ed Up' a girl in the back row of the movie theatre one Friday night.....
Doug
( I think it was a horror movie ) :)

Hey, stop trying to hijack this thread by posting on topic! :p

Are you really...

Except that "pool players" really did mean pool players from the beginning, while "Gay" was of a different meaning and got jacked by homosexuals.

...not getting that it is the "intent" of the two word uses that I am comparing and NOT their etymology? Or are you being intentionally obtuse?:p

MM...Doug is sounding kind of hot after that pedicure:p :D ;)

anyway, good luck to you all who just can't seem to grasp a very simple (and important at times) concept.

i still think even the moderators of AZ need to get with it, they are just as bad for not deleting the title of this thread and perpetuating the problem.

What this thread needs is to be derailed into something more positive :D

 We were looking for a name for our Monday Night pool team and I said 'Britney Spears'. Britney meaning British and Spears alluding to cues. Go hunting with a spear then and a cue now. We played with that name for a season but in retrospect the other teams thought it was gay.

 'Who are you playing tonight?" "Britney Spears'. I guess that choked their egos a bit. ""Hey, Did Britney Spears beat you?"

you don't need to rethink anything, you have no idea how right you are, it's every person's right to remain uneducated and illiterate sounding.

You're a funny guy. Now I'm uneducated and illiterate because I acknowledge that, within the slang language of today's American youth, "GAY" is often used in the context that we are discussing here? Your unwillingness to understand that I have not condoned anything here is just ... you guessed it ... G-A-Y!

EDIT: I removed a proposition bet that I offered because, after submitting my reply, I realized that I don't care to get caught up in any internet woofing that isn't likely to go anywhere. Not to mention, I'm not even really posting here as often lately and your reply to my offer is likely to go unnoticed. But I will say that being called "uneducated and 'illiterate sounding'" is pretty funny considering that the person calling me that seems to lack reading comprehension skills.

Don't sweat it, JimmyM. Enzo wants to beat you but he needs you to give him the 6... or is it the 5? :)

In this thread, giving someone the 6 takes on a whole new connotation..... imo :)
Doug
( I haven't played in so long, that I doubt I can still give anyone the 6 )

Depends on the reason! I don't understand why people would give negative rep for a dissenting opinion.. to think an entire online community would consist of only people who think the same way you do is rather niave.

Bastian, I just noticed that Gregory has been passing out some additional Negative Rep. You're not alone. :)

I have to remember to give Memikey some negative rep for calling us a "yank". :D

Yeah, it's not like it really hurt my greenies or anything (which I must admit DO matter to me), but reputation should be based, in my opinion, on how one carries him/herself.. not on the opinions they hold. To give negative rep because you disagree with someone is a bit wreckless.

If I gave negative REP to members who have said things that I don't agree with or who have different perspectives, I might run out of negative REP before I finished spreading it around. :D :D :D

you seem not to be able to understand what you've written. who is it that can't comprehend when i said you are uneducated and illiterate SOUNDING and you say I said you are uneducated and illiterate right there. read jimmy, read.... i know it's tough.

I have enough reading comprehension to have received a masters degree.

in any case, i propose (to maybe solve this), that every time someone does something bad or unethical on AZ billiards, we should say he really "jimmied" that. if somebody is a dirtbag.... he's a "jimmy". if someone chokes a nine ball..... he "jimmied" that 9. if somebody makes a stupid post... what a "jimmy" post. if somebody receives funds and doesn't send the product (in the wanted section).... I got "jimmied."

And, if it caught on and continued, lets see how you would like it.
