Worst Pro Match Meltdown You Seen

It can really be strange sometimes. I was watching miz play once and he had a ball about 2 feet and from the hole and the cueball maybe another two feet away from it. All of a sudden he starts getting up off the shot maybe three different times. Then he finally shoots it and misses it by at least 6 inches. It's a hard thing to explain sometimes. Your brain just completely fails you.

Something very few would know about but a c class player / cue collector in Houston had what I believe to be the most expensive melt down.

Garland Ye was a super nice guy always working on his game. He’d come to the pool room with a different $5k cue every month.

He would have moments of brilliance followed by moments of misery after missing a few balls. He would become very angry at him self on occasion.

His last visit to the pool room he busted up all his collector cues in a rage of fury. Walked out and was never seen again.
I did that when I was about 21. I lost gambling, and was fed up with my play. I think I broke my 314 shaft while playing slamming it on the table. After losing the session, I broke my other cue over my knee to never play again. It lasted about 6 months.

I was working in a machine shop and one of my coworkers had a table at home and invited us over. I glued the 314 back together in the shop and went to his house to play.

This was in 1999 or 2000.

Yes and no on Earl. Because I've seen him get so angry where it's not a meltdown he's not even trying to make the balls anymore. He is knocking them off the table and stuff. I was at a tournament in South Florida he was he's playing a local player who has no chance at all. Because the guy made the nine on the break a couple of times earl just got so angry he started slamming the balls around and then he finally quit when the score he was behind maybe 7 to 5. Race to 11.

he did that when he was playing chamat's tournament here, just raked the balls earlier and earlier in each rack the opponent ran until he raked them right after the guy's break. worked himself into concession.

Played in a tourney at the pool hall across town last night, lost 5-4 in the first match. Played average and had a headache. Worked 12+ hours and took an hour and a half to get there in the taxi.

Next game, I think to myself that I made the effort to get there, don’t lie down, and was matched up with my friend (who I’d say is better than me), think to myself, “let’s go” - 100% all in. Break and run the rack to the 9, feel the confidence and speed in me, and then I go and dog the thing… didn’t miss by 6” but it’s not a shot you should ever miss… Playing on new Rasson Wolf tables, which are less than a month old. They’re not played in like the store I usually play at. Tighter than a nun, and the rails like trampolines.

Laughed the shot off with my buddy, blamed the table for my ineptitude, and had a good game after that, came out of it 5-4. Made a nice bank with position from the 7 to get out on the hill. I think this time last year, I’d have complete lost my head and gone down 5-0.

Lost the next game 5-4 to a strong player who won the city monthly tourney the month prior to yuan8 open. But still happy to play with and watch that group of players.

Sometimes the wheels come off, and part of this game is trying to fix the car while you’re driving it.

Better luck/performance next time.
