Would a calculator be allowed at the table?

Judging by the way this thread has gone, I will be carrying a calculator with me from now on, when ever I go looking for a game...

What calculator is best for pool?

Is one better for nine ball and another for straight pool?

Are there low deflection calculators?

Will this one work? http://www.poolcalculator.com/

What about this one for snooker?

What about those of us that are "old school"?

I'm thinking more of a calculating machine that could fit into your pocket easily. But our one member provided us with that wonderful multiplying method, so maybe we don't need one at all.

When I was in college before the days of handheld calculators, I used to own a circular slide rule. It fit in my back pocket so I didn't have to wear a slide rule on my belt like those geeky engineering students. Most people found it so confusing that I never had to worry about having it stolen. Today, most people wouldn't know what it is.

these threads make my brain convulse...

A new thread started by ChrisBanks is like a bad traffic accident, you dont want to look as you drive by but you just cant help but take a peek at the carnage.

a calculator? really? what ever happened to trying NOT to look like a complete douche at the table?

the difference being... it's MY table not yours :D

(and it was for photographic purposes only, no felt was harmed in the making of this picture)
