would B vitamins help with pool?

Ever get an allergy test? I started getting headaches once in awhile last year. I found out I developed allergies after never having them. Started to take a 24hr Claritin, and they disappeared. Now I keep a box at work, home and in my case.

I eat super clean... no grains, legumes, or dairy for the past 5 years. Grass fed meat and vegetables is my main foods.

I have lyme disease that I got last year and I think the headache is related to that.

You probably got it from the tick that was on the deer you shot when you were out in the woods finding meat. Irony is a *****, ain't it?

Actually, I got the tick in the woods because I took a crazy horny tinder girl there that I just met an hour before. The sex was amazing. The Lyme was not. Looking back, I might have done it exactly the same way again;)

Lol

Why do you think that would help?
Vitamins are not a miracle cure.
If you want to play better pool, workout, eat healty, practice with purpose, work on your weak spots and stay hydrated while playing!

Well you would never hear Kevin Trudeau saying anything close to that.

First thread, sorry its a dumb one.

I was just wondering if a super B complex vitamin (all the B vitamins) taken 1 hour to 30 minutes before league play would help either my pattern selection or my shot making ability.

I know that if I think it will help that it will help, thanks to the placebo effect, but I was wondering if it will actually help.

Thanks guys and gals, play well and good luck

Ha, ha! I've had Lyme three times and none of them were anywhere as much fun to get as your dose was.

Did you have a high fever (104º+) and terrible headache and stiff neck when you got it? Did you get Bell's Palsy as well? If so, chances are it got inside your nervous system (Lyme meningitis). You should have a spinal tap and a PCR done to check for Lyme in your CSF if you had those symptoms.

The Lyme bacteria is a spirochete, and can hide inside microscopic cysts in your brain. Doxycycline won't cross the blood/brain barrier, so if that's what they gave you to treat it it wouldn't reach the bugs in your brain. IV Rocephin is what is needed.

Spirochetes are the same class of bacteria as syphilis. My doctor told me syphilis takes decades to get into your nervous system, whereas Lyme goes right for the brain. Now I've had syphilis three times as well, and let me tell you, I had a lot more fun catching that.

- B complex - Rhodiola - Ashwagandha. Take them on empty stomach.
- Two omega3 softgels (From molecularly distilled fish oil) and one astaxanthin softgel (you may add one Q10 ubiquinol softgel) everyday with a meal.

These work great. Of course they will not make you a better shotmaker. They will help with brain function and dealing with stress.

Exactly,
My wife went to buying Vitamin Drinks one time. I would go out to mow and drink one about half way through. One day she mistakenly got a yellow colored one I couldn't see...the small xxx on the bottle. It was pure vitamin B and I was up 24 hrs....not a lot of fun, but I was ready to mow all the grass in the neighborhood lol.

Vitamin B cannot give you energy as it has none of the macro nutrients, fat, carbs, or protein which are the ONLY sources of energy.

What B does is help covert those macros, esp. carbohydrate, from your food into more energy, if you will, in your body.

Re, the OPs question: It's hard to feel mellow if your pee ain't yellow. With enough B complex in your body, which is used rapidly when you're under stress, you will have enough to pee out some and it looks yellow. If you urine is clear, you're out of Bs.

Never buy cheap B or use those damn energy drinks with it. Bs are like an orchestra: you need a good balance to make hear the music. Too much of the cheap Bs and the balance is thrown off and you'll probably be worse off with the crap than with none at all. Companies tend to leave out the expensive Bs and throw in extra of the cheap ones.

"Stay hydrated" is really good advice. We think of it all the time with other sports, but no one mentions it in pool. IMHO, dehydration will affect your focus and concentration far more than an influx of B*.

And I know too many players who think "stay hydrated" means "drink beer". They wonder why they play well at the start of a tournament but can't close the deal. While part of the problem is the alcohol, a good portion is also the dehydration that comes along with it.

When I was in the Army, the unofficial motto was "drink water". You can't go wrong with nature's best!

And FWIW, I take a B-12 supplement every day (along with E, Zinc, Magnesium, and Protandum), but I don't attribute any of my pool playing skills to that fact.

B vitamins are water soluble so they, too, can wash you out of your storehouse.

Complex is better that stand alone Bs.

I got it last June, neck was so stiff I could not lift it off my pillow. Many other symptoms as well. Today, 1 year later, my remaining symptoms that have not cleared up is a constant headache about a 3 on a 1-10 scale only on the right side of my head/temple, ears ringing (mostly right ear, sometimes left), and very stiff right neck and right shoulder (3-4 on scale of 1-10). I took 6 weeks of doxycyline 1 year ago. I'd like to take this discussion to another thread. I think I will start one soon in NPR re lyme. I'd love to hear any other advice you have. Thanks for your input, I appreciate it.

please do - Lyme is real & is constantly overlooked &/or misdiagnosed. there are apparently many herein who can advise/empathize, inplace of the lack of doctors who could care less than to take your $$$$.

OP - balancing your electrolytes is essential for energy & clarity; otherwise it can wreak havoc on your system & cause stroke or heart attack. all B's, potassium, magnesium, D, K, calcium, & sodium work in conjunction with each other. a shot of Bcomplex in your ass will work for a few hours - but not if the rest of your bloodwork is screwed up. Ensure or PediaLyte (former is cheaper & also contains iron) have 25%+/+ components of everything you need & are absorbed more rapidly than vitamins/minerals. generic cost is $1.25/bottle.

thanks for the serious replies and thanks for the welcome to the forums. For those who wonder, I have no problem with shot making or shot selection( :) ), I just want to be in the best shape possible in both dimensions.

B-vitamins, from the posts in this thread, will help you, like I thought. The real boost comes from nootropics, which I have been taking for about a year. I take all the good ones (I hope - correct me if I am wrong)

-huperazine A
-Pterostilbene
-Phosphatildylserine
-Bacopa Monnieri
-Ashwaganda
-Branch chain amino acids
-Choline
-Inositol
-Cats Claw
-L theanine
-L tyrosine
-Vinpocetine
-Vitamin d3 5000iu
-a great multivitamin (kirkland signature) - cheap and well balanced

I could go on, my vitamin/supplement game is strong, I take all of these daily. You are welcome for the list of mind enhancing supplements that will improve your game. Its a fun game. Play more and play well.

I get all my supplements on ebay fwiw, I use consumerlabs.com to make sure that the supplements contain what they say that contain. They do not track many of the nootropics that I mention above, but they do track all the vitamins and many other healthy supplements that I use.

The b vitamin complex that I use is Nature Made super B complex, its about $7.50 on ebay for 140 pills(free shipping).

GL!

Indeed they would, but your time line is dangerously incorrect. All vitamins, including the B-complex, should be taken precisely 47.5 (+/- .0375) minutes prior to any kind of planned pool playing, and that includes practice.
Synergistic-ally speaking, vitamin D, U, M, go well with B, and should also be considered. :)

but this one was gold

Asking question on the internet is very funny to me, for the most part.
Not sure if the OP did a Google search about vitamin B to see what the "actually" benefits of B is soooo
http://www.everydayhealth.com/pictures/surprising-health-benefits-b-vitamins/#01
personally i don't see where or how that vitamin would help with pool since it doesn't address that department, and its not like you can jack up on for any extra boost. And the manner in which it was asked "help with patterns" maybe wasn't asked properly and kind of feel like the penis enlargement pill question.
If you really want to go that route (once again, I'm not sure what you're looking for) the find out (you are on the internet) what vitamins chess players take, thats about as close as you'll get

(this was not meant to be disrespectful to the OP, so please don't make it)

Damn man, that some serious stuff. I thought you were joking, after reading the Tinder chick comment. My neighbor had this for well over a year. Not fun for sure.:(
