Would love to buy a diamond pool ball cleaner

It's not worth building your own anymore. Amazon has them for 100-200 range. Here are 3, with the cheapest at $123 with free shipping:
the concentricity they spin at makes me cringe. though in reality it would probably take many hours to make balls oval in a cleaner like that. and even then only if you are using a heavy polish. when i use my cleaner half the time i don't use any cleaner at all. what's still on the pads is generally enough to give the balls a good shine.

The point is no one is going to make a cleaner with Home Depot parts that is better than this for $120 with free shipping. If they do manage to make it, it will be a big ugly bucket and take days to do. It's simply not worth anyone's time when this is available from Amazon.

i agree if i didn't already have one i would probably buy the smaller blue one that is only $123. i like the auto reverse function.

I bought one of the cheap ball cleaners off Amazon 2 weeks ago. I've cleaned 3 sets of balls so far. It works really well. It came with some unidentifiable blue liquid, but I use the Aramith ball cleaner. The machine spins super fast. Maybe too fast?! So far so good. I wonder how long it will last. Time will tell. lol
