Would this constitute a 6 pack?

Last night, I concluded my practice session by breaking and running twice in a row. At the start of today's session, I broke and ran my first 4 racks.

Would you consider this my first 6 pack? I only had a 5 pack one time.

I once ran a rack after drinking 5 beer, would that be considered a 6 pack?

I suggest not running after drinking that strong Canadien beer, Eh!

Congratulations for the six pack. Congratulations also for knowing how to end your practice on a high note.

Nice accomplishment, but it has to be in the same session to be a 6-pack in my opinion. Why in the world would you leave after running two racks? You should have kept going until you missed.

i think it's tougher because you were in stroke, came back the next day, and continued where you left off. i consider that an 8 pack!

Really ...

To be official ... It has to be in one session and you have to have a
witness to it. There are guys claiming to have broken Willie Mosconi's
526 ball 14.1 run, but no witnesses to collaborate it.

If you did it, and did not cheat or 'fudge' then you know you did it,
but officially .... no.

I set my high run in 9 ball playing a 3 way 9 ball game for $50 a man a game,
an 11 pack, 7 runs and 4 breaks.

Who cares if it's official. Nobody's calling Guiness on this one! Call it whatever you want, the guy ran 6 racks in a row!

See, in my opinion, making 9's on the break or comboing the 9 is far more questionable.

I often wondered if a nine on the break would count.

Way to go Snapshot.

Personally, I wouldn't count 9's on the break or comboed 9's. I mean, I don't think anyone can argue that making the 9 on the break really is a pressure-free action. Really, it's the same as making the 9 on the break at hill-hill versus breaking and running out. The two acts may yield identical results but one is much much eaiser than the other.

Easier or luckier/less-skillful?

Easier = less skillful

Listen, making the 9 on the break happens at a moment when your sole purpose is to keep the cue-ball on the table and make ANY ball. If the nine drops, it's like a bonus. It's like taking a woman home from a bar and she asks if her friend Jill could join her. It's more than what you expect. When you make a ball and have to run-out, it's much much harder. If there's something significant on the line such as a personal achievement or the thought of losing, it can be extremely difficult. It's like a no-hitter versus a perfect game in baseball. When you talk about a package, you're talking about perfection.

Man, you look like the Werewolf from London. Great pic ROTFLMAO.

If this is you Scott in reality, please accept my apologies. I am uglier than this so I am partially excused :D
Yeah, my wife says I clean up pretty good. And, my daughter got the best of both of our genes!

What size table did you do this on? I am always curious about types of tables people play on. I watched someone playing league 8 ball on a bar box last night and it seemed so alien and strange.

I think you might consider accepting the 6-pack with an explanation what happened. I've never ran a 5 pack, but in last season's 9-ball tournament I was playing a guy, I was leading 2-1 and he broke empty. I ran out the set to 7-1 (without combos :) ) and on the next match which took place on the same table right after the previous ended, I won the lag and ran the first rack. So, did I just run a 4, 5 or a 6 pack ?

If this was done on anything under a 9 footer, then you have to multiply the racks run by a compensation factor.

I don't know. For most of us, there are SO MANY factors involved in an extended run that it almost doesn't matter what the circumstances were. I ran one of my two 5-packs on a triple-shim table which is downright ridiculous since I hate tight pockets. I was playing horribly that day. I ran five racks and then I continued to play horribly that day. Just that for those 5 racks, I broke perfectly. The wing-ball went along with another EVERY TIME and I got post on the 1 EVERY TIME. You make multiple balls on the break and get shape and there's no reason why you shouldn't be out. On that triple-shim table, they really were Mickey Mouse outs. You can be playing on a 7-footer. If it's tough to pocket balls on the break, you won't go far.

To be honest, my table at home is a 7 foot table, and I had a easy 7-9 combo in one game. I am just proud of myself for breaking and leaving a shot on the lowest ball that many times in a row. That is the most difficult obstacle on my 7 foot table.

And I always like to finish my practice sessions on a high note.

Thanks guys

LMAO! Now that is just a funny statement to relate to 9ball and running racks. Thanks for the laugh.
