And today he sent me pm said "someone already sending him money"  , " I dont believed you are slow this time". " if deal doesn't work out I'll let you know " I guess he dont have to sell it to me for being the first offer guy, but he can sell it to someone sending him money??????????????

do yourself a favor, let it go and take it as a lesson learned. too many sellers put product out there get interested parties and then string'em along as long as they can to see if they can get a better offer from another. the worst part is when they turn the tables on ya' and get mad if you don't do the deal after they can't find anyone else.

yes sir, i will take it as a lesson for my self. Thanks skins for your suguestion.

Hey- at least if he comes back saying 'hey they are yours' you can reply 'already sent money to someone else!'

Its was a tough draw but hey, you didn't get stiffed outta money, just a deal

Maybe you are better off.... If it was this hard to try to buy, imagine what "might" have happened if you did !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just food fo thought.......:)

Don't sweat it. Any one who doesn't respect an " I'll take it" from you is just shooting themselves in the foot.

Don't tell me we are seeing a sequel to Hal and Thingie saga. Hope you guys can settle it amicably.

Hang on

I don't know all the facts, but I do know I did a deal with Masterclass, Chris, and it went perfect. He shipped from Singapore, I jumped because it was an item I wanted, had no references on MasterClass, sent the money anyway and it all went fine.

And I know he does travel frequently.

I have deleted this post. I think it is not worth prolonging.

Mystick cue fan. I believe you were the first to accept my price and terms. I have not received your payment.

If you no longer wish to buy these 2 cue I can understand. They will no longer be for sale here after this.

If you do buy them, please advice everyone here that you paid for exactly the price that was advertise and not a penny more.

Thank you

Best regards
Chris

Well said Skins, why can't everyone just be honest and treat people right. When you advertise something for a set price and the first person to contact you says i'll take the cue or whatever for the price you asked they should get the item. Situations like this just make you realize the kind of people that are out there pulling deals like this.

I did exactly as you suggested. And flying snail was not the first person.

The item was offered to the first person at exactly the same price it was advertised. I may not be a big time buyer and seller but i do try to offer my items to people fairly and honestly as i possibly can.

My PM being full would probably be an idea of the response of this sale.

This is most unfortunate.

If sellers would rule out the behind the scenes voodoo when they list an item for sale this would not happen. If you list an item with a price stipulate that only posters that reply in the thread will be recognozed as buyers. When someone makes a post in the thread that they will take it and noone else has posted before them they have every right to think they have "dibs". These PM's involving purcahse should be disallowed, if you want it post it and if you back out then everyone will know who is at fault. That would eliminate the he said-she said BS. Questions about the product could be asked and anwered via PM, but if you decide to buy the item you should make a post declaring your intention. If all sales were handled this way this particular situation would not have happened. Any items I sell in the future will be posted this way and I will state it in my description as such.

Are there any guidelines?

I'm not sure how to approach an offer for sale on this forum. The one and only time I did show interest in an item, the seller decided to put the item on Ebay where it sold for more money. He begged out of the sale by stating that the item generated more interest than he had anticipated. From his own account, it sounds like he left at least 6 prospective buyers holding whatever it is they hold in situations like that. What really happened, plain and simple, was that he got greedy.

Some sellers appear to be simply fishing for market value, which they can gauge by the number of responses.

I'm sure sellers have to deal with buyers who are long on enthusiasm and excuses but short on cash.

Since the seller really holds all of the cards here, the first buyer to respond may well lose the item to someone more well-liked by the seller - or who offers more money behind the scenes, or to a face-to-face sale.

My question is, why do people put themselves through this at all? This forum is not designed for efficient, fair and orderly transactions, so why is everyone beating their heads up against the wall trying to make it work?

Why not just use Ebay? All it takes to attract an audience is a notice posted here, and away you go. Seller usually gets market value (plus bonus due to buyer competitiveness) and the biggest, fastest, boldest buyer wins. Of course, there are risks - the item may sit unbid because the minimum bid was too high, or it may sell for minimum bid because of lack of interest, but that's just the way it goes. Win some, lose some. I think that in the end, the sellers make out in that arena.

When I sell something, I do some research to determine what it's worth, then decide what it's worth to me, and then I just sell it. No regrets. Usually, the buyer gets a really good deal, and they get that deal by being the first to speak up.

Sellers need to make an informed decision to sell, sell the item, and then forget about it. You can always get more money if you want to wait for the right buyer to come along, but there is probably a reason you want to sell now, so a balance needs to be struck. Make a decision, and out of fairness to the buyers, stick to it. It's called the Honor System for a reason. If you can't work within that, then use Ebay.

Sellers also need to post some good pictures (or links to same) and a full description/disclosure. If not, don't complain because you have to field a million questions from all interested parties.

I believe that people will be a lot better off if they step back and realize that their self-worth doesn't hinge on the sales price - they're just getting rid of things that they no longer want. If they die holding on to it, I guarantee that their precious cues - along with whatever else they own, will likely be sold off at bargain prices by their survivors. Step up and give some new kid a good deal on his first real playing cue. What's wrong with that?

====================================

Having said that, it's obvious from the "Sticky" transaction threads that a lot of good deals have gone down successfully, so there must be a set of unwritten guidelines that earnest buyers and sellers go by in order to do business here.

Can someone offer a few? I think that on a basic level, the sale should be first-come, first-served. When the first buyer opts out, then it moves to the second buyer, etc.

Haggling? Always an option, I figure. There are three prices on everything, always have been. The seller can either entertain fine-tuning of the deal by PM, or offer the merchandise to the next buyer if buyer #1 opts out. Nothing wrong with that. The seller who jettisons a buyer for haggling might find that the next respondent in line wants to haggle too, but harder. What then? Better to just make a deal you can live with and move on. Everyone has more important things to do. The seller already knows how much he really needs to get for the item.

Kenny, I do not want to discuss about it! I know whats happend and you know what you did. Anything else is just excuses.
Like, whatever chris says to you right now, sound like, blablabla = (I´ve taking the piss out of you)
Right?
And, I want to buy a predator breaker cue, you can not offer something else for covering your mistake.
Would you get a Mercedes if you want to buy BMW by a dealer???

Anyway, I´m no more mad with you and wish you good business.
I will still ask you when you offer something. If you want it too of course :)

Peace brother!!!

Warmest regards!!!

Well Kenny

At that time i told everyone that if they can send me payment immediately i will be able to send the cue out before i fly off. If not wait till i get back then i will put up the 2 cues for sale again and respond to those that has PM me before first.

You sent me an email saying that you would like more pictures when i get back.

Usually you would scream "i'll take it" the moment i post something for sale but this time it was another who accepted my terms and offered me payment. Even if he did not choose to buy it there is still another interested party before you. I would have like to sell them to you as i have no problems with transaction with you before. I am not making anything more selling to the other party.

This is most regrettable. I find myself waking up an hour early just to respond to this before i go to work. I sell to who comes first and i will not make exceptions once i agreed to sell.

Chris
