Is the instructor named Jasmin? And what's she (not) wearing?
... but no, I wouldn't do it.
Not to be overly negative, it just has so much added hassle involved for something that is basically... well, no offense, but it seems gimmicky. He can pay for and ship you some kind of super webcam, plus an appropriate mount or tripod, and you can pay him a deposit for it, and you can install it and learn how to work it, and you can have the necessary nice connection, and the necessary pool table, and a laptop or w/ever, and you can move the camera around 20 times an hour and try to dicker with the zoom and settings so that he can see what you're doing...
...or one guy can hop in a car and drive to the other guy.
OR... how about this:
what I would pay for is to have a pro analyze a video of my stroke. Give people directions on how to set up a self-taping session properly (camera angle, lighting, etc) and have them do various strokes from various angles, then maybe have them do a few ghost racks of 8 and/or 9 ball etc. This can all be done with anything from old fashioned vhs mailed via parcel post to digital video transferred over the internet. Then have the pro create a custom video of him addressing me and whatever weakenesses he spotted on my video. He mails me the video and that's what I'm paying for.
By simply eliminating the real-time aspect of it and letting a player wait a week for the analysis, you eliminate the need for special equipment/laptop/broadband/etc and they're getting something worthwhile that doesn't require quite as much commitment as a long drive or expensive flight. The pro can also watch and respond at his leisure (tho within a reasonable time frame, no more than a month I'd say)...no need to work around anyone's schedule. If the pro feels like taking a crack at it during his midnight snack, he can.
