just saw a meucci gambler on e bay for 60.000.00. he says it is the original prototype for the production cues. he stateshe has had it for 30 years. his location is in collierville tn. ( where i used to live ) which is about 15 miles from where i currently live. i would love to see it in person.

dont know how to post the link but it is listed under gamblers on e bay.

that price isnt far behind what willies bushka went for but i highly doubt anyone would pay 60,000.00 for a meucci even if willie himself had it.

I saw one of those el cheapo carved cues with the ramen wood shaft and screw-in tips listed for $2,500. They claimed it was an antique.

Can't wait to hear the knowledgeable cue people here chime in, I think this guy may be a little out of line on his prices?

Check his other postings. He has an ancient Adam plain jane cue for $2,000, and a handful of old Meuccis priced at $2,500, $3,500, and $5,000. Obviously smoking too much of something potent.

thanks for posting up the links , havent figured out how to do that yet.

yea i think his prices are outa line lol.

this seller lives about 5 miles from meuccis shop, maybe he oughta go see if bob will buy it back.

on a side note, meucci has a deal now where you can buy a cue now with the quality and specs of the old originals for an added charge of 25.00. i think he ought to just make all his sticks like he used too and try to regain his reputation for making good cues again.

Nice cues but no where in the ball park as far as true value is concerned.
I wouldn't be ashamed to own any one of them but not for those prices.

Isn't it funny, has anyone here ran into a real hustler/salesman, great talker?
They all have a story to tell and each one of these cues comes with an interesting story.
I bet this guy could sell a refrigerator to an Eskimo.
I did however enjoy reading his stories.

Other cues like some of the Josh East, some Shons were beautiful and quality built but they all pale in comparison to this one.

Surely hes just Joshing us.

Seriously, with all the famous Pros he has played with this cue from up his butt to Vegas, he doesn't know how to spell Joss or Schon.

His wife says its time to let someone else enjoy this cue.
For 60K I'm sure they will be enjoying a nice holiday in Hawaii with this cue.

I sent him a note asking if the cue comes with a letter of provenance from Bob Meucci.
We'll see. I'm not done pulling his tail with these cues yet.

I won this cue in 1979 from a player in Southaven, Miss . The players daughter is the famous writer of the song about Bobby Joe Mcallister.

Actually the song is entitled, Ode to Billie Joe and was sung by Bobby Gentry.
I guess the guy just can't get his stories right.

I sent him a note.
So, just out of a matter of interest, what is Bobby Gentry's fathers name?
I happen to be related to the Gentry family and was wondering if you remembered. I have shot a lot of pool in my day and don't recall Bobby's father ever mentioning that he played the game. See if I can catch him on this one as Gentry is her stage name and not her
real surname.

I just despise liars and scammers, I just have to mess about with him.

Seems u guys missed the possible "gem" mentioned in the story. Looks like he also has some old and collectible Cutecs.

Story of how it was obtained.

This cue was sold to Ed R. of Memphis who was Bob's insurance agent at the time. Ed lost the cue in a poker game to my father Sam L. around 1978. My father held on to this cue for about 6 years and traded me for an antique gold coin with chain in 1984. I have played in tournaments from Florida to Vegas against famous players like ST Louis Louie (shot coordinater for Color of Money movie now deceased), Mike Massey, Jimmy Rempe, Jose Perica, Nick Varner, Scotty Townsend, Johnny Archer, & Keith McCready (Grady Seasons in the Color of Money movie with Tom Cruise and Paul Newman) etc. I have been in possesion of this excellent cue for almost 30 years now and need to sell for personal reasons. The stick is just part of an entire collection of old rare Meucci, Viking, Cutec, Adams etc. Other cues are being sold seperately. As the wife says its time to let someone else enjoy them for a while.

I know Travis Trotter is interested in those old rare Cutec cues I am interested in the etc maybe he has a cue with a Russian sounding name.... oti or ushka :wink::wink: Those have probably got 6 digit price tags
