Wow, Can he go any lower....

Just looking at these cues, they really are good looking.

Ive seen a few that just look awesome, can't lie.. I wanted a couple Ive seen.

but based on a few horror stories Ive seen here,
dontknowifwant.jpg

I'd need to have the cue in my hands for a full session before I would be happy shelling out for it.

I have one from him I got off e-bay for 250 bucks including shipping. It's not the best cue I've ever played with but it does do what it's supposed to. The Cocobolo/Malachite combo made it too hard to resist shelling out for :D.

I broke with it a couple times, nothing fell off. All in all, a decent cue for the money. Better than spending it on a Meucci of McDermott for the most part.

any butt with the right shaft will play well
Phillip makes a great point, I have had several of his cues, some of the older uniloc QR's, the ones that sold $$$. I have always used a Pred shaft with both the QR and the Radial Pin....they all played well for me. That is alot of American Cue for the money.

Wouldn't it be a trip if he had these cues made in China? Not saying that he is, but at that price and nothing on being "made in the USA" wouldn't it answer a lot of questions?

I thought exactly the same thing... how could he afford to knock these things out at this price and make enough to live...

then I noticed this comes with every cue

It's a little blurry but looks like it says these he made every cue, and that everything was produced in the USA

Actually, I have a buddy that is about to buy a DP cue right now...

Your close enough, go by his shop and check it out.....

I believe that the only reason why his cues are not wanted is because either its cheap shaft wood or he just does not know how to taper the shaft correctly, NO custom cue should be that cheap in my opinion. I mean think about it ITS ALL WOOD. i mean ive seen his work and its not bad enough to be 150 for a brand new one and he F'ed up putting his business on ebay

I took a shot and bought one. I figure it's a nice looking cue, if I don't like it I can resell it local for what I have into it. Johnnyt

You're a braver man than I, Johnny! Please post a review if you have the time.

I made some inquires a little while ago about these cues over in the For Sale area. I received several PMs from individuals who own one or more of his cues. I did not receive any negative comments on the quality or workmanship of the cues.

What I found out was there are 3 guys including DP who build the cues. The goal is turn out 6 to 8 cues a day. They sell the cues on eBay and directly from their website. I don't see a problem however what I don't understand is the large differences in price. Most of the eBay cues are $200 to $300 or slightly more and the cues on the website go from $400 all the way up to $2500.

Based on the information I have, I would be willing to risk $200 or $250 to get one of his eBay cues. If I did not like it I bet I could turn it on eBay for $100 to $150 without even trying and in all likely hood I could recover my cash.

Where/What is the downside?

My cousin owns one it Started making a tinging noise when you drop it on the bumper so he called dale up and he said send it to me. Within a week dale called him and told him he was building him a new cue. Sounds like good customer service to me.

I had a question and e-mailed Dale. He e-mailed me back in minutes. I talked to him on the phone also. I felt even better about the cue when I got through on the phone. I just hope he's not Keven T's brother j/k. Johnnyt

I remember when I got a DP Ebay cue. It came with a "standard" taper instead of a pro taper like I requested, and I hit him up with a PM on ebay. 4 hours later, he gets back to be and tells me to ship the shaft back and he will send me a new one, even though I had already chalked and played with the shaft I had. However, I got used to the different taper and ended up telling him that it was fine, and gave him a positive review on ebay to reflect his cust. service.

I am holding on to a dp wrapless that belongs to a friend of mine...and compared to my schon I don't care for it....but it is miles above any mcd or muccie or chinese made cues....If I snaped my schon in half and had nothing else to play with I would pick up the dp and never miss a lick....

Yeah why not? According to the pace at which those 4 guys are running he'd have a new one made by the time I finished my lunch. lol.

but seriously, good to hear he stands by his product in some/most cases.

Hell, if they can make that many cues and maintain quality, it only speaks of their mad skills.

WOW 4 guys turning 8 cues a day?!?!? That's break-neck speed!!!

I think PegLeg meant that Dale is one of the three guys there. I've been there a few times and there is only two other guys in the shop with Dale. Last time I was there he said they were putting out 120 cues a month. How is beyond me.

Thanks,

Randy
