Wow, Can he go any lower....

I ordered my cue this morning and it's already on its way UPS free shipping. Johnnyt

For what it's worth, I e-mailed him a question recently and he responded with an answer very quickly. I hope that your cue plays great.

I remember when I got a DP Ebay cue. It came with a "standard" taper instead of a pro taper like I requested, and I hit him up with a PM on ebay. 4 hours later, he gets back to be and tells me to ship the shaft back and he will send me a new one, even though I had already chalked and played with the shaft I had. However, I got used to the different taper and ended up telling him that it was fine, and gave him a positive review on ebay to reflect his cust. service.
In my experiences in the past (2+ years or more), Dale would turn and taper shafts to your specification.....Though I did not use them with any regularity, they are good for resale purposes.

I got the Dale Perry Cue that is on EBay today. I Ordered it yesterday and got it FREE UPS with INS. today. I live in Florida as is his shop, but still it was a very pleasant surprise to get it so quick.

I played with it for two hours already. The cue looks great, hits very nice, no vibration, perfect balance, and feels very solid. If all his $150 cues are built like this, and I have a hunch they are, you can't get a better bang for the buck for a NEW cue IMO. I love this cue already...and I don't love much. Johnnyt

Dale's cues are nice and I think his designs are some of the better looking, as far as quality I have never seen anything bad at all. I wouldn't have the same business model as he chose but maybe that's why I don't have a business to call my own.

I've played with the cue about ten hours now and it continues to hit great, feel great, with no vibration, boink, or funny sounds at all. I'm going to pick up another to have handy for a present for a friend. Plays as good as anything I've ever owned. Johnnyt

Mr. 1/1

I bought some of his earlier cues from Robb report years ago, when they still actually ran $3500 a cue for his limited stuff.
So I'm one of those that got mad when he started his Ebay thing.
BUt- He does have good enough taste in materials, looks wise, you can't ever beat them for the price, and they are easy to sell just off of the looks factor.
Add an OB-1 shaft and they play alot better, and bump your price to sell.

He's also the one that made the prototype for the Cue of the year from McDermott last year before it was presented to McDermott by the customer as a design he wanted.
The rest is history.
Felix (Phinmole)knows the guy very well that had it made, as well.

I'm on both sides of the fence here with the current pricings and availabilities, vs. the past history.
He's nice enough on the phone, and can do almost everything but glue your cue, wrap it and finish it before you hang up. He has that much material and everything already done apparently.
If he can make a good living competing with the production cues out there, then more power to him, I just hope that he also stands by his work as well.
I've never had a problem like was previously posted though.
Never kept one around long enough to encounter it, I guess.
For the prices....good enough to find out-
And league season is always going on somewhere...

I've played with my $150 DP for about 260 hours, and broke with it about 20 or more. I like it so much I put my $350 Viking on the shelve and only use the DP as a player. And I used a Viking since the late 1960's. It sounds the same as the day I hit the first ball with it. I must have got lucky and got a good one:rolleyes:. Johnnyt

I will always say that for the money you can't beat the hit of a DP. I have two of em, but I'm debating on selling one because I have a Carolina Cue on the way to being finished.

If anyone might be interested in a 19oz DP 5 point in stained gray curly maple w/ a 13mm DP shaft with a Talisman tip and a 12.75 OB1 with a Sniper tip let me know. The total I paid for DP and OB1 was $400 and I'm wanting to sell it for $300.

I bought a Dale Perry for $177 around 6 weeks ago. I popped an extra $100 for the DP-R shaft upgrade. I like the shaft but I can't compare it to the standard shaft as I never played with one. The has nice curly maple with ebony points and turquoise inlays. I feel the cue is worth every penny of the $277 I spent on it.

The only cue that comes close for the money is those radial pin cues that Rackem is selling for $100. I bought one of those and it is a great cue for the money.

I shot with a purpleheart DP about 2 years ago, for about 6 months or so. It played great, never a problem. When I decided that I wanted a predator z shaft for it, I made the mistake of emailing Dale, and asking him the thread size...I know, I know, not the smartest thing, but the answer that I got was very rude, and he never did give me the joint size. I sold that cue as quick as possible.

Unless he changed things after you bought the cue all of his cues have a standard radial pin. A guy I play with on a regular basis has a DP and he bought a 314 with radial pin and it screwed right on.

As for the email, there is no excuse. I send Dale 2 emails with questions after purchasing my cue. The only response I got was an email telling me the cue had shipped. I wanted him to tell me what types of tips he had available and I was willing to spend $ for a different tip but he never answered my emails. Too bad for him. It was a missed opportunity to sell me an "upgrade" and also it hurts him in the long run because ignoring your customer base is always bad.
