Saw one person say that it would only be semi's and finals, saw another say it would be "a few matches" from the other stages, and mainly the semi's and finals. But I'm certainly hoping it starts at 11, and covers these rounds well. Love the quality of their stream, definitely gotta' mute the commentators and put on Pink Floyd.

The post is absolutely WRONG! You must mute the commentators and put on Miles Davis!

Looks like a young gun will win it this year. My guess is on either Ko Pin Yi or Carlo Biado. Momentum is with them though tomorrow they may wake up and their form desert them in which case it will be the oldbies Lee Van, Hohmann or Orcullo will win it.

90% sure that semifinalists will be
Ko Pin Yi Vs Lee Van Corteza
Hohman or Orcullo Vs Carlo Biado

Agree that Ko Pin Yi will be finalist but IMHO other finalist will be Biado so it will be battle of youong guns. I cannot see Orcullo overcoming Biado's momentum.
And the champion will be Ko Pin Yi. Though I think Orcullo will be easier opponent in final for Ko :D considering that Orcullo was on hill in race to 15 in Thailand Open few years ago and Ko did an 11 pack on him to win it

I do remember that comeback by Ko Pin Yi. It was certainly epic.

I based my picks purely on experience on the big stage. Orcullo has been there. Ko and Carlo have not. Nerves may play a big factor. Ability-wise, every one of my picks (even the dark horses) has the ability to pull it off.

How can you overlook Hohmann

He's already won this event and the world straight pool championships 3 times. All in addition to the largest purse in the history of pool @$350,000.00 US

I'm not overlooking Hohmann. Gotta pick someone between Orcullo and Hohmann. It's a coin toss, and I simply picked Orcullo. This match right now between Dennis and Thorsten could be the finals right here.

Efren won $500,000 in the final event of the IPT. It only took him three years to get paid! :D

Gabica leads 9-7.
Jef-Jef ties it at 7-7.

i remember, about 10 years ago, Antonio Gabica ran 11 or 12 straight racks against Dennis (winner's break). When it was Dennis' turn (after being pinned to his chair for a long time), he scratched on his second shot on that rack. Then Dennis swore on national TV, and everybody was laughing including him. It was hilarious. He lost to Gabica 17-3.
