Well, the WPBA's website is a little confused. It says the tournament starts on "Thursday, Sep 10" instead of the 11th? I also see no brackets up yet?

I will take Jasmin for the win. She is coming off two impressive finishes and assuming she has stay in the U.S. since then, is now adjusted to the time change and all that. I think this will be where she pulls out her best game. I think Allison will be in the top 3.

I look for Iris Ranola to finish high again. She has a fairly soft draw her first few rounds, except for a likely match with Tiffany Nelson.

Anyone else want to take a stab at this? I was hoping for at least 20 responses to show how close the top 10 or so are. You just can't throw Allison Fisher's name up anymore. Johnnyt

Maybe a reality show or a cage match would go over big after all. 3 responses for this thread and 500 for the J. Chen/Sarah Ellerby elbow thread. Lights, camera, aaannndd action. Johnnyt

My pick to win it is Allison Fisher.

I knew, I knew it. I put that "you just can't pick A. Fisher any more" in just for you. I love it when a plan comes together. Johnnyt

Yes, Johnny, I fell right into your trap.

Actually, it's slightly more daring than usual to pick Allison, given that her draw is that of a #6 seed. Her road to the title may be bumpier than usual.

Allison survived a 9-8 match against Brittany Bryant in her first round match. Yu Ram Cha may can definitely give her a battle in the next round. Most of the usual suspects won their first round matches (that have been completed; Corr's and Villarreal's matches haven't been updated yet), with Julie Kelly being the one exception. She lost 9-8 to Line.

I know it's very early in the tournament but I see a lot of "I'm taking no prisoners" from a lot of the top 20 seeds. It's almost like a bunch of them figured out that they needed to find another gear, and that every game counts to make any money on this tour.

Also, thank you to Anne Craig for the great photo's and updates you do each tournament. I believe you do the brackets also, thanks for that too. Johnnyt

Line won 9-8 against Julie Kelly, and 9-7 against Kim Shaw.

Keep it coming girl, revenge against Xiaoting Pan in the next match!!!!

If Iris Ranola stays here in the states for a few years she's another champion they'll have on the tour. It's a nice 1st place pay-off, but it's going to be hard to get it more than once a year for ANYBODY. Johnnyt

Nice wins for Allison over Cha and Tiffany Nelson over Iris. And congrats to Sarah Rousey for another good win, this time against Sarah Ellerby. I hope she can put together some more good wins for a good finish.

If she gets thru Pan (I believe she played close against her last time they met) - she could be on a wakeup roll and will have a good tournament - I think that she must realize that the WPBA is not Norway (none of the women players up there can come close to her - has any women players in Norway won EPC gold medals as she has??)

I agree and hope Sarah Rousey does well! She is well overdue!
