Not sure how Accustats does their scoring but GYK's only miss vs Megan was a jump shot. She was shooting it in the side and had to draw back a bit for the 2 which she did but she did not pocket the one. Somewhat interesting is the fact that warming up for this match she missed half her shots. Then she goes ahead and shoots perfect.

Allison just beat J Chen 9-5. Dawn was down 7-5 or so to Kim Shaw in the last match of the nite.

When Accu-stats was pretty new in the early 1980's, I used to keep te accu-stats sheet form time to time for my friend and occasional practice partner Pat Fleming.

If my memory serves, if you come to the table snookered, as long as you make a good hit without fouling, there is no deduction. If, on the other hand, you hook yourself, there is a deduction unless you kick or jump it in.

Hence, if Ga Young came to the table snookered on that one ball, she may have shot a 1.000 Accu-stats match.

Another tough redraw for Jenn. From the score vs. Vivian, it looks like Pan is playing well. I hope Jenn can get over the first round of single elimination hump.

I was a bit shocked with Pan Xiao Ting's thrashing in the first round by Tracy Hines, but seems she's played herself into top stroke with an 8-1 win over Vivian.

Will be interesting to see how the rematch with JB goes.
 
Apparently we have a new player on tour, Dawn Herndon. This person was the winner of the Dawn Hopkins vs. Melissa Herndon match. Aparently both players played so closely that they are now going to finish the tournament as a scotch doubles team.

Karen won 9-7, Rim over Shaw 9-8.

Jennifer C had needed to make a bank shot on the 5 and missed, denying her a chance to get to the hill.

Jen's last rack-most of her balls only had one pocket but it wasnt the same pocket- i saw that report too.

Four former snooker champs in final four. I think if I was just starting to play pool and liked it I'd switch to snooker for six months to a year. Then back to pool. Johnnyt
 
That was quite a Saturday in San Diego, but the smoke has cleared and the England/Ireland nine ball tournament is on tap for Sunday.

Four great players and I'm truly jealous of anyone who will attend today.

The Battle for #1
Allison has a pretty big lead right now and Karen may need to snap this title off if she hopes to catch Allison before this WPBA season is over.

Rankings Related Information for the Other Semifinalists
Kelly Fisher will leave San Diego as the #3 ranked player on the tour regardless of today's results, passing Monica Webb, who will drop to #4.

Sarah Ellerby will leave San Diego #10 if she wins the title, #11 if she finishes second, and #13 if she loses in the semifinal. San Diego sure is a good venue for Sarah, who earned her first career Top 5 finish there in 2002.

Miscellaneous
Tiffany Nelson will move up to a best ever #7 ranking. Alice Rim, I think, will move up to #27.

Regardless of today's results, the Top 8 will look like this:

1) A Fisher, 2) Corr, 3) K Fisher, 4) Webb, 5) Kim, 6) Villareal, 7) Nelson, 8) Hofstatter

That's actually not that unusual. When I played regularly and the few times that I play now... If I'm just knocking 'em around for practice before shooting against someone or in league, I tend to miss more than normal. Once I start actually playing against an opponent, I get better. I hate practicing by myself for this very reason...my game is bad enough, I don't need it looking worse than it already is. :p
